I have been told that a 280TL deposit is required for a landline, I presume this is paid after they have been out to check that I can actually have a landline, but does anyone know what the connection charge is. I live in a well established road with TC neighbours and the telegraph pole is virtually in my garden so it shouldn't be a problem , I just need to know the cost, can anyone advise me please.

Hattikins, we paid the connection fee of about 240TL (I don't know the exact figure because we had to buy a number off someone that hadn't paid their bill and this was included and this was 15 months ago.) We also had to pay a 200TL deposit because we are English.

We too were by the telegraph pole. We waited two months before going into the telecommunications office. We got a promise, waited another month before going back in, got another promise (they said that we would be connected within two days.) We waited 2 weeks and went in again and the man in charge said that he would tell someone to follow us down and switch it on that day! Anyway, needless to say, they didn't and we gave up! We tried, but couldn't get a refund!

Good Luck!
