hi

just bought a turkcell simcard, pay as you go and it is asking me to enter a pin number.

im sure the instructions will give me the answer, but unfortunately i don't understand turkish.

could anybody tell me, is there a standard pin number you are meant to put in and do you then have to register the sim card

Aren't the sim cards sold with a card that you have to tear open to reveal the pin number?

rattler,

PINs are all different - one to each sim. (not strictly true, 'cos there are only 4 digits!)

The PIN (PIN1, that is) together with PUK1, PIN2, and PUK2, is given at the top of the green card (the tear-off bit) which is included in the info-pack that came with your sim.

Obviously, once you have entered it, you can go into your phone's menu and disable PIN protection if you wish.

Keith.
