Isn't he that bloke who writes a column in Cyprus Today and 'borrowed' a load of money from an old couple so his wife could open a shop in Girne and refused to pay them back when they asked for it claiming it was a gift?

Remember reading it in Cyprus Today ages ago if it is the same bloke.

Does anyone know if the old dears got their money back?

=> You're right, negnick. Should have asked to call or email me. Sorry. Problem is one still cannot edit a post - should be a facility high on Izzet's wish list, I think.

Dave, it's not rocket science - Hal Crompton whose financial integrity was questioned in Cyprus Today and highlighted in message 5 by Gooligan was involved in the organisation (I hope not the financial side) of last night's concert!

by what authority did richard currie have the final say on who appears at a

charity concert. surely the more artists the merrier with reduced stage time.

I look forward to seeing the published audited accounts from the concert,

noting the profits that have been generated for the chosen charities.

Lets all hope that a large amount of money will pass to the charitable

organisations.

Washerman......I only saw and heard your boy play once at the Loch Inn, with a big fuzzy headed guy on drums.

I thought then that he had loads of talent and lots of potential.

Would be great to hear him play now.

Music never has been and never will be a competition. Good musicians are good at what they do at the time they

play. Your boy was brilliant, Snakes is brilliant in his own right. Musicians shouldnt and dont normally argue about

who is best but appreciate the hard work and hours of practice that go into producing the wonderful sounds that come from their instruments....both loud and soft.

I like music..if I want competition I go to the race track or a football stadium.

I know it was you on the skins. Not bad actually, bit ringo'ish, staccatto, but look where it got him

The rhythm section holds the band together and you and Ronny on base guitar did a great job.

It was a great pity that the following friday nights concert was cancelled as the bar closed.

I thought that you were well rehearsed, a bit raw, but thats what local music is all about..grass roots

an all.

When are you reviving the band?

Washerman, for the record there was an article in the Cyprus Today a couple of years ago

(on the front page no less!) telling a story of how these couple of old dears had 'lent' Hal Crompton and his wife a load of money to open I think a craft shop or something near the round tower in Girne and they refused to pay it back claiming it was a gift.I think the old lad was having treatment for cancer and desperately needed the money, hence they went to the papers.

I believe you have friends there at CT,maybe they could dig you out a back copy.

Hope this clears this up for you.

=> Indeed. Mostly for you but also for Zerochlor (throwing oil on the fire he unnecessarily started). I suspect you two talked this attack over thoroughly.

Dutch.

Let me offer you 1 very serious bit of advice.

i did not or do not collabarate with other board users to get at others.

I said after i posted on this thread that you started,i stumbled on it by accident whilst searching for a bar name in alsanjak useing cyp44 search engine.

Now DC, do not ever dream of making such a statement regarding me again in that manner,or you will for sure regret it. And myself also.

Also i do not have a friend relationship with washerman, quite the opposite actually.
