I briefly met Gez in 2005, when he was at Unwins, and immediately thought how likeable he was.

I realise that the prospect of leaving Cyprus, and the lifestyle that it provides, to go back to 'Blighty' must seem a gloomy prospect, coupled with the heartrending wrench of leaving.

Therefore, I was thinking: 'Could they try to start life anew in the South?'

In case it may be a consideration for you, and the possibility of them requiring staff, I have compiled the following list of Paphos hairdressing salons and tel. no's.............

philosophyofhair.com 26 822692 Opp. Roman Hotel - Tombs of the Kings Road.

Joanna's Hair Care Salon 26 964481 Opp. Alexander the Great Hotel - *Kato Paphos.

Isabella Hair Dressing Salon 26 923228 Filippou Court, Shop 3 - Tombs of the Kings Road.

Skevoula's Unisex Hair Studio 26 912236 Ellados Ave. Polis Rd. Opp. Morello's Patisseries.

Cutting Crew Unisex HS 26 937615 Apostolou Pavlou 70, *

I have a few more Tel. No's in Limassol - from the Cyprus Forces 'Lifestyle' magazine, too, if you are interested...

After your horrendous experiences, anyone can understand why you want 'out'.

However, despite all the 'forum hate', there are a lot of nice people in RoC.

I know people who've been here many years, then returned to 'Blighty', and needed a light box to prevent serious depression - like many Kiwis and Aussies do when they go.

It's hard to explain or define, but when we've been on this island for a fair number of years, we develop a 'Cyprus Mentality' - that's why, after the initial euphoria of returning to UK, life soon becomes distinctly unpalatable.

It's for this reason that I suggested you might consider giving the South a go.

I guess it wouldn't hurt to ring a coupla three of those numbers!

OK - just tell me where to stick my dog's nose! - None of my biz - but whatever - best of luck!

hoagy - you've just posted exactly what I'd have liked to; but because I live here - frankly, I didn't dare to for obvious reasons!

Any criticism of TRNC would be well advised to be clouded with euphemisms, in light of the possibility of the consequences.

Tenakoutou....I have been avoiding the forum for obvious reasons, i just came on here to check if anyone was interested in some of the stuff i am selling...

Thank you so much for your kind thoughts it really is appreciated.. i have heard so many awful things about this forum, that it really has blown me away by the amount of support that Gez and Myself have recieved and continue to recieve..(dispite the odd 2 or 3 not so nice)

I am afraid the South is not an option for me... I have decided the UK is the only way forward at the moment, where i have my family & friends... and i have decided that I would like my son to finish his education there too.

Thank you again, like i said in another message, i just wish i could have been here long enough to get to know all the wonderful people who have written such kind things...

Weaze: many thanks for your reply to my posting/suggestions; especially so, in light of the fraught and limited time available to you because of what's going on.

Of course, I didn't know your family circumstances, which is why I posted what I did - however, now I'm relieved to hear that you, Gerald and the children, can return 'to the bosom of the family' - good on yas!
