Hi all,

Would need to change the lock of my front door as it will be handed over soon with the same old key anybody could have cloned. Any name/reference for this job here? Im based in Girne.

Also, what about setting up an alarm system to protect your house? Has anyone had one installed so far? Where did you get one fitted?

Opposite Colony Hotel, if you walk up past the repair shops and Chopsticks Chinese. Just to the right there's a parade of shops, the first is a locksmiths. Take your old lock and he should be able to sort you out.

Hi Herbert,

I go to Altug which I think may be the one minertor mentioned. I follow the road up by the side of the telephone block and the fire station, turn left, pass a white wall to a row of shops on the right.

I have used him for many years and he comes out for free to fit the new lock depending where you live.

We bought new locks from the guy in tin pan alley, 5 keys with each which cannot be cut/copied, great if you have to give others a key now and then and quite cheap too.

If you are on a complex or villa development why don't you ask a neighbour to swap locks, all you need to do is remove the lock barrell and swop with neighbours, not forgetting to swap keys of course.
