Hans - good luck with the chess club - sounds a very good idea.

Just one thing (not nit picking) but should that be the "ACC" rather than the "AAC"

I've altered it now.

Dutch.....the reasons are twofold

1.I'm only in TRNC 2 or 3 times a year.

2.I'm lazy and I like other people to do all the hard work whilst I just enjoy the benefits

My 8-year old grandaughter is learning, as her dad and uncle did when they were at

school. One son tried to teach me but afraid I wasn't much good as I couldn't learn

the rules! He was pretty good though and will tell him about it. Good luck with it.

Chess is a superb game, and i love it...however i just don't have the right kind of brain for working out strategies, just when i think i've got a plan in mind, one move from my opponent and i'm back to square one!! Very frustrating for me...Good luck with the chess club!!

Can I just turn up and play or do I need to join a club. If I have to join, do I have to give my e-mail address?

If I give my e-mail address, what guarantee do I have that it won't be passed on to a third party for a monetary consideration ( I heard from a friend that this can happen on some sites here) Not this one I'm sure but better safe than sorry. Go D C ant watch over us all?

I do have a chess set that I bought in Yugoslavia many years ago, free to good (learner) home

Hi Lilli, am stuck in UK until Oct 3rd. If you've ever done any business with NATO you'll understand. Some people can' t accept that retirement means they have to deal with underlings. You are welcome to the chess set, see you five weeks today. Unless of course the club has folded before then.

is it a club? beware of Geeks baring gifts.

DC in the photos you have a picture of people sitting at a table with no chess but waving to you! I see some in the background playing, will you be having a tournament in the future? do you have enough folks to play just chess, or could you not incorperate draughts on this day also., I cannot ever win my hubby at chess but do sometimes win at draughts, just a thought as many ladies do not like chess but like draughts......

minertor and dizzycows: you are destructive people who do nothing positive and only try to spoil this (and other) thread(s) where some people try to arrange a nice, free afternoon for other expats (yes, mainly British expats, gentlemen, ladies and children). What's wrong with you?!

I have to admit that you make me puke. If this goes on this way, where a thread about chess cannot be maintained without your sick contributions and insinuations, then, indeed, I give up. And for the record: it's "minertor" and "dizzycows" who killed the chess thread and the "Alsancak Chess Club". Congratulations.

P.S. Guido: let's forget it, we'll play together, anonymously. The lunatics have taken over and the Admins are obviously off-duty. Afaik the "Alsancak Chess Club" is dead - I am fed up.

DC what are you on about killing the chess thread,? thought an idea about draughts at the same time was just a suggestion to get other ladies interested.

DC I shall start to believe what the others say about you if you dont calm down, my my,... and for your information you just do not like it if someone retaliates harder when you insult, so for goodness sake man, if you get fed up over such trivial things, go have a drink or a fag what ever, lol xxxxx

Seems I was wrong, you're not cured. Don't start your whinging now, you posted message 36, rebounded eh.

Well just listen, hear that Hans, That's the sound of your incompetence being made obvious to the masses, not just your incompetence, but your suicidal stupidity at going after your superiors without the facts to back you up. I'm neither a retired plumber nor butcher, two decent trades that you tried to belittle.

I asked a legitimate question regarding security as I had been warned about misuse of e-mail addresses, and yes, they mentioned your Crusader website, I'll forward it if they give permission. You saw fit to reply with your link to the paranoia website. Don't try to be more clever than you are, now go find your dummy and suck it. And I'll still be at guido's with my chess board next month. If you cancel then take the blame for your actions and don't try to point it my way. I will react to any slight, however slight, even from numpties.

yours affectionately

Tony

Sick Cow

Why don't you just p..s off! You are a pain in the proverbial (again, look it up - it begins with p). I am sick and tired of your pathetic insults (old, sad ladies - except you spelt it 'ladys'.)

You have been on this forum since May of this year (not long, bearing in mind your earlier ban). Why do you bring Minertor into this? What's he got to do with anything? The man makes comments - he does not incite argument. I do believe your entire "raison d'etre" is to cause trouble with your immature, pointless, ignorant postings.

Oh, and by the way, your choice of board game may be draughts (a game most of us enjoyed in junior school) but please do not include us all in this.

Jeannie what is the matter with you, your insults are really quite funny, why dont you just p--s off yourself, Insults my dearie if you look back started with you, or does your memory not go back that far? so as I have said before to you, dont read my posts, butt out. 2nd suggestion is mind your own business, if I want to chat to minertor I will without your grand permission. If you want to still call me names, you and your cohort, so be it no problem. But if you want to continue your cyber bullie boy tactics they dont work on me dearie.

And well done you for moving away from draughts, do you know Jeannie a lot of women like to play this because they teach their grandchildren this game, then they move onto chess, it was a positive suggestion, not to be taken in your usual ignoramus way jeannie. In fact you do seem to have the same traits as msg 36 to. lol xxx

This is my last posting to you. You can make of it what you will. You initially annoyed me about your postings about the price of lobster in Guido's. This mattered little to me, in theory, because I do not eat shellfish. However, you made a big deal out of it, along with your 'I hate being fawned over" (can't see that happening much, but, bye-the-bye. You then back-peddled (a thing you're very good at, as I have said before), and started currying favour with Lilli - probably when you realised how much goodwill they have on here - justly deserved. You know what you said about how sad myself (and, of course, my cohorts) are on here and how we made you laugh? Do you know what makes me laugh (apart from your spelling and (lack of) grammar? It's when I get home and run through the threads and play "spot the thread that daft cows has posted on". It's so accurate, it's untrue! Do you know that NC was a better place before the likes of you started coming here (continued)

You do not read posts on threads correctly. Why the hell did you ask Minertor about the joke? You stupid cow, it had already been deleted! Why don't you read a bit more, well as much as you can, and then post?

In closing, I would like to ask you a question. You appear to be very "ageist" i.e. referring to myself and another female member as "old ladies" NB I have spelt "ladies" correctly for you. Just how 'old' are you?

PS I see your sucking up to Bill now - who's next?

Everyone - you'll all be pleased to know that this is the last I have to say to this

'person' and I won't bore you any further - can't say the same for her, unfortunately!

Oh, Jeannie! I've seen her on her way to The Hut - don't risk your car trying to hit her but. Or do you happen to drive in a cement lorry?

58 Hans, thanks for the warning! You're right, we only have a hire car whilst in TRNC. Mind you, might be worth it - anyone have a price for hiring a cement lorry?

Top price paid!

Hattikins you back again, thought you were not speaking?? Is it not against forum rules to keep being rude, do you know, it just makes you look so common to try and keep up this cyber bullying, so I would be carefull if I were you, as I have said in a previous post it was both you and Jeannie who decided to start it so just go back to bed with your fag and bottle, you will feel better in the morning lol xx

I have just read this and find it unbelievable and childish. Grown men and women, bickering as if in the playground. This was about a chess club started at Guidos by Hans. To get back on thread and adult behaviour, well done Hans glad you all had a good day.

Hi Nurseawful, I suggest you read the posts again. The question I asked Hans in msg 33 was because I received an e-mail, unsolicited, regarding website security. I have forwarded this e-mail to Izzet to prove there was a genuine concern. You can see the reply I got in msg 36. Now once again, Hans is hoisted by a petard of his own making and is squealing "foul"

Don't know how Dizzycows got involved, or why she came in for so much abuse. I think there must be some overspill from a previous thread. Seems to be a lot of it about, hey.

=> 1 : You got your answer to your question in msg 33 in Lilli's msg 34: "no cost no forms to fill in". What more do you want? It's a CHESS club, not the CIA or MI5. You had no reason to go on and on - just to spoil the thread.

=> 2 : What are you insinuating, suggesting or supposing or whatever with: "e-mail, unsolicited, regarding website security"?! I couldn't care less about your website security or any other security. I can't remember I ever emailed you and your email address is not in any database on my computer. Do me a favour, solve your problem with Izzet or anyone else, but stay away from threads where you are not particular wanted.
