Can you believe that the Lockerbie Bomber (Megrahi) who has only served eight years of a life sentence killing 270 people on a Pan Am Flight could be released as he has Prostate Cancer He wants to go home to die, Let him rot in jail and in pain. THOSE PEOPLE ON THE FLIGHT JUST WANTED TO GO HOME ** Is their one law for these sort of people, when only last week everyone was knocking Ronnie Biggs, this Bas******* killed 270 sheila

Hi Mike This makes me so angry and I suppose it does everyone else, but why give a person the right to go home he is worse than an animal. I agree he should have been executed or hand him over to the FAMILIES of the people he Butchered I'm sure they would love to get hold of him sheila

Hoagy what compassion did he show when he blew up that Pan Am which killed 270 passengers Sod the protocols, I know the case was very complex, never the less these people should never be allowed back on the street.

I agree if the evidence is indisputable but in this case there are some considerable doubts. The fact he has dropped his appeal has allowed several agencies to breathe a huge sigh of relief because his guilt at any subsequent appeal was far from certain Lets not forget the British and USA Governments convinced the world about Saddams WMD and we all know what a load of BLX that was Listen to some of the families that lost loved ones cause they are not all convinced justice was done

Bomber now released and thought that he will be flown back to Libya in a private jet. No protests as yet but think they are putting heavy security in place at Glasgow Airport.

This whole affair stinks! I am not wholey convinced that Megrahi was the actual culprit. The fact is that we will never know, however, he was convicted in a Scottish court in the Hague for the lockerbie bombing and as such he should have been made to remain in prison for his full term. Anyless less is a slap in the face to the families of the Scots and Americans who died that day. Why are we so keen to give quarter when so often none is given to us!

Queens Hotel Lockerbie. Well worth a visit if you are passing. Used to have a few local characters, pockets full of the money and a few missing family members. That was a few years ago now and all forgotten im sure.

We have had an SNP controlled government in Edinburgh for last 10 years or so. How can you blame Labour? The decision would not suit America but their hypocrasy is blatant when you consider they shot down an Iranian plane the year before Lockerbie with the loss of 290 lives, and said little about it. Some believe the downing of the Pan flight was Iranian directed as revenge. We will no doubt see America embracing Libya's Gadaffi soon, as there is so much oil involved. More and more hypocracy.
