You will not learn any Tyurkish from this lot because they are too keen to improve their English. Your best chance for learning Turkish is to join your neighbours in the mornings for coffee and listen to all the latest juicy gossip in Turkish of course. Soon you will get the hang of it.

I have been told that Ingrid is actually the perfect person to learn Turkish from as she makes it easy to follow and fun. Unfortunately we live the other side of the island and don't venture over to Alsancak - BUT, if she was to set something up Esentepe way then count us in

I also think Ingrid is the best teacher here....although i understand what Elko is saying...i learnt a lot of turkish working with them and not having any choice but to learn! Fortunately most drinks are the same in many languages...phew!! Can't be a great bartender if you don't learn the language!

Am I seeing things? Has the first post been edited or changed in any way? Somehow I remember replying to a post about people getting together to improve their English and Turkish i.e. Turkish Cypriots and English speaking people trying to help each other. Perhaps I mixed up two threads and instead or replying to one I replied to another. Don't tell me its old age! :(

Anyway, now I realize that Ingrid is a very good teacher and teaches Turkish to English speaking people in the best possible way i.e. she makes it fun to learn Turkish. This is the sort of lessons I enjoy and find it useful.

Ingrid, keep up the good work, I am sure you will have enough people interested to start a class, good luck.

bar8.8,

Thank you canım! See you Wednesday!

Carmel,

There seems to be quite a lot of interest from people in the Esentepe area. I'll let you know if I set something up that way.

Hi Sandie,

Not very romantic! lol Very kind of him, though. But I'll make sure he learns a few romantic words.

Looking forward to seeing you.
