Out yesterday doing a restaurant reveiw aong with 'er in doors and the Mongerford two.....

We were eating out main course and 3 cats came to the table to see if we would give them some food...

Garry Monger's Missus is cat mad and was feeding them some chicken, when suddenly a waiter, armed with a large bottle of water marched over and sprayed the poor little fellas and walked off...

We sat in utter amazement - then Mrs M stormed over to the waiter and slapped around the chops so hard, it knocked him over.....and told him in no uncertain terns that if he ever did it again, "she would be back"

the moral of the story - "Hell hath no fury as a Monger Missus scorned"...

Nedless to say, we won't be returning and they ain't getting a Neg Nick reveiw....

He was only trying to look after his customers! As a cat lover myself I always throw them something

but they really are a nuisance coming round the tables. As long as it was only water he was throwing!

I hate any animal near me in a restaurant. Well done the waiter. He gets a 10/10 from me.

Doesn't bother me but lots of people object to cats bothering them when they are eating and lots of animal trainers use water sprays, if you can catch the Lion Man he uses fire extinguishers when working with his tigers in case they turn bad. Not seen him using one yet but always has them on hand.

I agree - 10/10 for the waiter. If I was him, I would sue for assault!!!!!!!!!!

Some are allergic to cat fur, others aren't cat lovers. Having a meal I would not want ANY animal nearby. If Mrs M is pro-cat, one assumes she is happy in the knowledge that by encouraging cats to the Restaurant, their kitchens will be plagued with felines unable to differentiate who welcomes them, and who doesn't; walking over the food being prepared, whilst sharing any fleas, bugs or toxoplasmosis they may be carrying. People like her, with tunnel vision, who don't see the bigger picture, or consider others who don't share her affection for cats, make me very cross. I don't know if anyone read the Sunday Times a week back? VERY amusing letters about the python who ate the cat (who entered the python's garden) funniest one was recommending the python be made lifelong member of RSPB, another asking if the python is hired out. I don't poo in anyone's garden, other's cats poo in mine though!

I'd rather have a smoker on the next table than animals roaming around the restaurant.

Nick....if this is a true story, and not just another Mrs Monger fable, then :

1. As others have said, please post the name of this establishment.I'll go for a meal there and buy that waiter a drink !

2.If Mrs Monger did assault the waiter she deserves a night in the cells much more than someone who allegedly forged a hairdressing certificate.

Surely the Police would easily be able to 'bring her in'. Every one on the Island knows she's the fattest woman on earth - how could you miss her?

The restaurant probably didn't want cats metioned in the 'review'.. Animals are, I am led to believe, not allowed in restaurants by law.

In fact, if she did really hit the waite,r she could be summarily deported as asaulting a local doing their job is taken very seriously. Others have been jailed and stuffed onto the first plane back to Blighty... leaving their pets behind I might add!

Aylin, I think NN's tongue is stuck very fimly in Mrs Monger's cheek!

We recently visited one of those resaurants in Bogaz on the harbour. We fed several cats all through our meal (as you do). When we got up to leave, Sally's face dropped when she realised one of the little so-and-sos had chewed up her designer bag, which had sat by her feet all the time. There's gratitude for you

At least they don't spit roast and serve them here, like they do in Spain. Ever wonder what that twangy tasting meat in paella was. Before anyone jumps in to deny this, I've seen the evidence with me own mince pies!

Frontalman - I am astonished to read you saying "as you do" hoping that inclusive remark implies everyone feeds "several" cats when out for a meal - unspeakable behaviour. These feral cats will always then bother everyone at every table, not being able to differentiate between stupid people and people who want a meal in peace, without potentially flea-ridden, diseased ridden cats or dogs (NOT their fault) sharing their ailments with humans. I have no sympathy for the chewed up designer bag - these poor animals are starving. There should be a legalised cull of cats and dogs in TRNC, and the bodies removed immediately, and it should also, in my opinion, be the law that unless a person is registered as a breeder, all dogs/cats should be spayed or neutered, micro-chipped and a certificate given to the owner saying this has been done. Anyone not being able to show that certificate, should have a hefty fine and the dog or cat removed, and given back once the deed has been done.

They're nice, those sweet cats around the restaurants.

It's only about 90% of them that are covered in fleas and have worms, whose eggs spread out from their bums all over their fur.

Next time you feed them tit-bits, remember to cuddle and stroke them as well, just before you eat your food with your fingers!

Ahhh!

Can someone please put up a list of all the restaurants that have animals roaming around in them. They will be the ones to avoid.

I used to have a problem with neighbour's cats using my garden as a toilet.

A few strategically placed mousetraps persuaded them to go elsewhere!

Can't believe she actually slapped the waiter! If she did, I think that is quite unacceptable behaviour

~The only reason acceptable for slapping a waiter is if he touches you where he should not!
