Ive been here nearly 2 years now and im still struggerling to find a sport to do. It must be an evening class and something that is fun and can get your teeth into. there is football, rugby, basketball etc for men but nothing for women, why? are we becoming too lazy?

Tut, If there is a basketball court for the men surely you could round up the girls for a spot of netball ?

We will be starting adult education evening classes at Sunny Lane School from the 15th September and one of the activities on offer is self defense for women! If you are interested, please contact the School Office after the 7th September for more information. Alternatively if you would like to hire the School astroturf in the evenings or weekends for netball, football, tennis etc., again please contact the School Office for more information.

I would love to have the chance to play netball here. Someone tried to start a team last year but it died a death. As netball has been mentioned in message 7, does this mean we have the equipment here?

All equipment is available at Sunny Lane, but I would suggest that you come take a look. This can be organised via the School Office after the 7th September.

It would be great to see a netball team set up and I am sure that some of our sporting teachers would take up the challenge!!

What about tennis? There is a Belediye tennis club but you have to find a partner to go with or alternatively ring Sunnylane as above, if there are a few interested you could set up a ladies tennis club?

HI all thanks for this,

Clairecat i tried to start a netball team last year as i used to play county netball and also division one and i also played basketball but could not get enough people to make two team and also needed a coach/umpire. With regards to Basketball there is no teams here for the older generation.

Hayran, thats great to now there is a netball court and post which can be used. Maybe we could get a couple of netball teams together and train and play at Sunny Lane, would you be interested in playing?
