This has probably been asked a few times, but for this years experiences, who would recommend someone for fitting just two fly screen doors to two patio doors, interested in good quality but at the right price, and that the mesh is small enough to stop sand-flies.

Thanks, Steve.

N.N.

I think you might be able to prevent sand flies with a very fine size mesh i.e. stainless steel interwoven 36 x 36 which would give an aperture of 0.45mm or 40 x 40 with an aperture of 0.40mm (they do go up to 200 x 200 but I suspect this might not let much light through!).

See this link http://www.meshdirect.co.uk/Stainless-Woven-Mesh-c-20.html

I am thinking of bringing the mesh over from the uk and getting the frames made in the TRNC.

I am not exactly sure of the size of a sand fly, I though I had seen somewhere that they averaged 0.60mm, perhaps someone could enlighten me?

mess 6 - i think that the sand fly are so small that the mesh size would have to be so tiny that the fresh air wouldn't come through !

Mr Fly, best in the business, very good to deal with, totally legal, and he,ll do a deal. My friend had some screens fitted by another guy ( not a proper company) fitted pine screens to mahogany, (said he couldn,t get pine) load of C**p , lokked like the profiles had been cut by Stevie Wonder with a bread knife. Mr Fly every time for me.

How do you stop sand flies from biting you to death in the night?

We have been plagued by them for the last 3 nights and our fly screens are not helping to keep these little blighters out.

We also spray the bedroom with Fluetex but I think they are immune to it.

Any ideas?
