Yep, it went down when the server was hacked in an attempt to stop the online newspaper North Cyprus Free Press from being published

Please do not take this the wrong way but a site getting hacked is different from one subject to a DDoS attack.



From reading your link it would seem that you were subject to a denial of service attack, probaly distributed not hacked.



To be honest in the general scale of such things its a pretty light attack. Not the sort of thing that would take down google or facebook.
