How often can you give blood safely?

I was asked this question yesterday. The answer is every 16 weeks approx 4 months. this is the UK guideline and I expect it will be the same for here.

You should not give blood until the baby is at least 9 months.

Hippo there is an age limit which has recently been changed from 66 yrs to 70 years.

Is there still a need to be over a certain weight to give blood? I was refused in the UK ... I weigh 98 lbs and am 5ft 1

I believe it is still 7st 12lb in the UK and would imagine that it will be the same here.
