Its a tomorrows world type thing a few programmes have been on tv the last few years

you can set the microwave to murder your dinner and the heating to come on

The only ones i've seen on TV are powered by sim cards as an on off switch

You can watch your home via the internet cameras so you can watch it being burgled upto the moment they take the cameras



This is a serious answer

It is possible to use a smart controller system to turn your lights on/off, control airconditioning, view your home via security cameras or even turn the kettle on 5 mins before you get home etc.. via the internet.
