Hi....A question with regards to Beer as in Ale and Guinness, I was wondering if there is any bars/restuarants that serve real Ale, bitter or Guinness in NC?

After 10 days of drinking lager or light coloured beer my Stomach turns inside out! I think I am allergic the larger it does not agree with me.........Hence it would be good to know if Ales are available?

PS Im not an alcholic or heavy drinker just a social one...

Hi Nunu1

Hubby tells me that there is a place in Karaman which sells real ale but unfortunately its only bottled (and at a price). Real ale wouldn't travel well. The keg stuff you drink on the Island is sealed so is easier to transport.

Hi Nunu1

Its a left hand turning on the main road towards Alsancak/Lapta. Its well signposted to the village. You turn left just after the Girne American Uni turning and just follow the road up, past Edremit and carry on. I'm not where exactly in the Village its sold. There is, hopefully its still there, a good restaurant called Treasures up there with wonderful views over the whole of the area.

Liasons bar in Ozanköy - opposite the mosque now sells guiness. Cheaper than a pint in the UK too, so I am told.

JK's in Lapta does real ales, and I know I have been able to buy Guinness in the supermarkets.

My hubby who was a real ale/beer man couldn't get on with the lager either so started drinking the Efes Dark. He much prefered it as it more "beer-like". Having said that it is pretty stong so beware.
