It will largely depend on which bit of Safakoy. Seaview is not complete and they have no facilities whatsoever. Hilltop is a finished article which more or less works well. If the apartment is on Seaview there are 2 pools on Hilltop which you can use. You should take note of the distance to the nearest pool and negotiate the rent accordingly. Also ensure the site fees are included in the rent as they can be steep. Overall Safakoy is in a good position, within easy walking distance of Bogaz and right on the doorstep of the Karpaz.

As a holiday place, we love it. Couldnt ask for more apart from smaller fees, but who wouldnt like smaller maintenance fees. As for living there, although there are a few who do, both English, Turkish and Cypriots, it is quiet most of the time. The bar is open all year round at present so there is always something there although if you want loud night life it is not the place for you unless you want to drive. Bogaz has a few bars and is nearly unspoilt. A fuit and veg van pops round twice a week. There is always one or two holiday makers, usually people without kids or grown up kids, but busy with lots of families during holiday times, especially summer. The views are lovely and there are plenty of pools to go to depending on which kind of property you rent.

thank you so much. We decided to rent a flat in Safa Koy and indeed place is quiet, lovely, safe and not many people living but its ok with me. Very good location to Famagusta, Karpaz and for sightseeing (Gastria, Kantara). I can recommend this place highly

dutchCrusader thank you sooo much! I love middleage and im archaeologist of late middleage period (first speciallisation is archaeozoology for me), so crusader times are very close to my heart. Im visiting Kantara castle often and Gastria I just need to pass Famagusta-KArpaz road across to get to it! Is there any middleage society in TRNC I could join in?

RE msg 7, ingalill: I have founded the "Medieval Cyprus Fellowship" some time ago, hoping to inform expats and other interested people about the medieval history and treasures of (Northern) Cyprus. If you send an email to mcf.trnc@gmail.com I'll add you to our mailing list and you will be informed regularly about "MCF activities". You just missed a reading about Famagusta (The Ottoman conquest in 1571). But there's more to come...
