We have now been told that our deeds are ready for collection , and that it is normal practice for the certificate to follow , which we know this is correct . My question is to all of you lucky deedholders out there , how long did you wait before the certificate was in your hands ?

Well done Pipie !

The TRNC authorities now believe you are the true owners of the property / land...

It's just the rest of the world you have to convince now ;0)

It is quicker if separate title deeds are issued - shared tend to take a little longer i.e. a couple of months.

Are your Title Deeds internationally recognised?

If so, you should have complete peace of mind.

Sienna - since your profile states that you live in London, perhaps you should wisen up as to the TRNC property debacle!

Many congrats also Pipie,

We also have our deeds, 3 years ago on pre-74 Turkish Title, though you now have me worried. We don't have the 'hand written' document.......!!!!!!??????

Paid our taxes and went across to the Court with our passports to sign some papers along with the secretary of our Advocate, who was incidently in a panic that she was late for her lunch date. We were told "Congratulations" also "You now own your property" without any smiles.

Thinking now (reading Pipie's posting) that maybe we should have some other paperwork other than the A4 sheet we have. Be really obliged if anyone can enlighten us to what 'The Deeds' look like, or maybe they have yet again changed the laws/goalposts. PAPERWORK ?????

Thanks for any help and please don't make this another point scoring exercise. xx

Got PTP in January 2007 after waiting for 3 years. Paid our taxes this year in February. Guess what still waiting! And we had to pay solicitor another £250 to do this.

We have what cooper has put up, it is not what we expected, but am assured this is all correct. It was about 18mths that it took to get PTP, and have also kept the original one from the previous buyer. lol ....

We got our deeds at the end of December last year. It took around 8 weeks to be in receipt of official documents, and yes they are hand written.

Our Deeds to are handwritten, very similar to what Cooper put up but with every room balcony, toilet , bathroom etc on it .

On the reverse side is of course your spouses name as it is in joint names.
