I'm looking for a very nice location for English Afternoon Tea.

Not yet, but when it cools down. Perhaps once per week, or even monthly. People to dress up a bit.

Fresh flowers, nice music, great service from staff who don't intrude.

Fresh home made cucumber, smoked salmon, egg & cress and ham sandwiches on very thin, sliced white bread WITH NO CRUSTS!

Little dainty pastries with fresh PROPER cream!

Various teas, made with TEA LEAVES, served from a proper silver teapot, with cold milk and a spare pot of boiling hot water. China cups and saucers, NO MUGS WHATSOEVER!

Am I asking too much?

Bloody hell, I nearly forgot, clotted cream, strawberry jam AND scones, or teacakes, toasted or warm!!!

http://www.theritzlondon.com/tea/teamenu.asp (But a bit less than £37 please)

My Nan collected vouchers in the paper to go to the Ritz for £8 per head!

Didn't realise it was so much!

Have a look at the new issue of Living Propertync, out on the 15th, a very good feature on afternoon tea at the Rocks. Also see the competition to win a meal for 4 at the Colony. You have to be in it to win it!!!!!!!

Have been told that the tea at The Rocks is very nice, the standard fare is 15tl but if you go to 25tl you get smoked salmon sarnies and champagne (but probably fizzy wine!). Am going to give it a go when next over so would be pleased to read others reviews.

there's a new place in Bachelli behind the tyre bay, Emelie's or something like that - apparently meant to be very good for afternoon tea - not been myself, but comes highly reccomended....

I think Lardy Dars used to do scones and jam and cream ........mmmmmmmmmmmm.

Are these not the same people who run LD's now? I don't know because I have never been since they moved, if it is them.
