Admins and all,

It was only a joke, but the knives came from everywhere.

Billyboy1,

You wanna break my nose, HA HA. Aye right!!

Have ya never cracked them wrinkles fer a smile?

You should have been reprimanded for threatening behaviour. I was merely attempting a laugh and not wishing harm on anyone.

Maybe someone on this forum could explain?

Hi Rip, I think if you post a joke then you are required to label it thus "joke".

That we know that no malice is intended.

can't seem to find the posting that you are referring to, if you enlighten me, then I shall attempt to reciprocate.

"JOKE"

ps Why do use a photograph of John Prescott

minertor,

I have sent an email.

The joke is no longer available for you to see as the whole thing was deleted. I didn't find it offensive, else I would not have posted it.

However, it wasn't for the narrow minded.

Well as I have been watching what gets 'closed'and who gets banned, there really is not a consistancy to it! Certain members can be very abusive, and as forum 'friends' they still are allowed to post! Some threads are just very entertainingly light hearted and these get closed!!! Some admin forum join in the banter and are fine, some just keep closing because its not to their taste!!

It all depends who is friends with who which I find quite entertaining, lol

Rip e-mailed me the joke and I laughed. Didn't see it as rude as some that get posted.

Then again, I aren't an au pair.

Hi dizzy, it wasn't my joke, it was ripoffrock that posted it and got lambasted. He e-mailed it to me.

As for paranoia, I think all that will be sorted soon, Dutch posted a link to the people who are helping him come to terms with his "problem".

Hope it helps him get back to normal,

whatever that may be like.

As I was the first to post a reply I never saw the funny side of it. In fact thinking carefully about it, had it been labeled a joke I STILL wouldn't have found it funny.

If this is how you think women should be treated and seen then you don't deserve to be even thought about in and around any woman.

If you see what you wrote as a joke, then your sense of humour really does demonstrate that you have no understanding of the point of humour. It is NOT to denograte or belittle your fellow man/woman, which in my opinion your comment/joke made.

..TimothyCadman,

Get a life Man!!!

It is outstandingly obvious you have never been far from your front door step. Anybody that has been round the block a few times would see it for it's humour. There was no malice intended. Do you think women do not make such gags about the guys.

You really have lead a sheltered life. Try and get out more deary.

T.Cadman: with such an attitude, your TV viewing must be very restricted!

Well let's see. Born 1963 in Manchester. Between the age of 5 and 10 lived and educated in New York. 10 to 12 lived and educated in Canberra, Australia. 12 to 18 lived and educated in Hong Kong. At age 18 went to study at Sorbonne University, Paris, France (not the one in Texas!). Left Sorbonne at age 21 with a First Class Honours Degree in Musicand Musicology. The course was in French too! Then spent 15 years with the Halle Orchestra touring the UK and World. In 2000 joined the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and toured the UK and World. I was laid off in 2003. Bought a Villa in North Cyprus and moved there February 2004. Ran out of money in May 2008 so moved back to Manchester, where today I work for McDonalds.

So I think I have actually lived a little and benn quite a bit away from my doorstep.

By the way, I didn't find Benny Hill funny in most of his sketches but some of his music is very funny!

Tenakoutou "your TV viewing must be very restricted!"

Not in the slightest. I enjoy soaps, quizzes most sit-coms and wildlife programmes. More than enough TV to keep me entertained during a day. But then again my life doesn't revolve around the TV. It is really something for the kids to watch when they want. Our TV is barely on 2 hours a day and then it's mostly for news items. We have a family life. We do things that don't revolve around what's on the TV and when.

Bejasus TC, they moved you on a bit sharpish didn't they. They usually let me hang about for longer than that.

'n I'm just a cretin with a big gob. But you're wrong about moving far away from your doorstep. With a tour like you've had, you're entitled to take the doorstep with yer.

How do you like sucking them lemons Rip'n Ten.

With that pedigree and your contacts why not try to organise Allegri Misere concert at Bellapaise Abbey?

TC,

Congratulations on your travels.

With an excursion like that you must have experienced worst jokes than mine.

There is generally two sides to every joke. Read it again from the amusing side, now knowing I merely intended it to raise a smile.

Brinsley,

I did try. I still have contacts within the Liverpool Phil and Halle. It was put before the membership boards of both Orchestras but was rejected due to "the political situation."

Not even Orchestras are immune from upsetting people especially these days when every penny they have comes from sponorship, and with times tight both orchestras are having to cut back and that, in this case, means lay off musicians. I've seen the Halle shrink over the years and is barely half of what it used to be. There's only so far you can go until that great sound that says "Halle" is lost.

Many of you would have heard the "Misere" before but for those who are not familiar with the great piece of work "Misere" by Georgio Allegri catch up with it at the link below. It is based on the full text of Psalm 51. Sit back, kick off your shoes and be prepared to be transported into a world of peace and tranquility within 12 minutes.

Sorry it should have been "Gregorio Allegri" not "Georgio Allegri"
