Anyone doing regular trips to Ikea on the south? I am unable to go over at the mo and need to get my son a bed, willing to pay for petrol etc.....

Problem is ladylittle that officially furniture is not importable to TRNC from the south without penalty if found out at customs. It is verboten !

Thanks guys I'll give it a go, wasnt aware that furniture was unable to be imported.... just cant find any nice furniture on this side for my toddlers bedroom, would rather support the north.....

Hi ladylittle, if you take a photograph from a magazine, to one of the local carpenters they will make you one, you will be surprised how cheap this could be.

I went with 'LittleNige' from this forum to Ikea yesterday & can definately recommend him, brought some furniture & bits and pieces over no problems & he's nice & chatty and offers a very good door to door service in air conditioned car! to get an idea of prices and what you want, it says 2010 catalogue but a lot of the things were in the store when I went yesterday! It's so convenient to have everything under one roof to buy for your bathroom, bedroom, kitchen and living room & just get it all done in a day!

Blanco Mobilya in Catalkoy made our tv unit, coffee table and small tables out of swedish wood (I hope) and they are excellent. It depends what you want it made of.

Sarah, go speak to Ramazan, he's on the main road between Karakum and Ozankoy, you'll see some of his work on the roadside. He's made some stunning units (from pictures given) and doors for my friends.

Hi Sarah - I have a gorgous hand-made bedroom set for sale. single bed, really good quality mattress, bedside table and dressing table. Am getting bunk beds (now have 2 grand children - doh!) so need the space. Bed used exactly once! Have to agree witgh Turtle, we have had many items made by Ronnies and Kadir is extremely reliable - will check details with you during manufacture and always keeps to delivery and appointment times. They make many styles in various materials and if you have a picture of the kind of thing you want will copy - no problem.
