Hi Suleman,

There is a watch repairs in the centre of Girne. I will try and direct you;

From the Dome Hotel - standing in front of the Dome with the hotel entrance behind you, turn left then first right. The watch repair is 50 mtrs up the road on the left side.

He is a good guy and I think the other shops use him as well, so you may as well go direct and not pay the middle man!

I have used Tunc for many years both for watch and Jewelry repairs prices are reasonable and honest - we is very friendly and prompt - If he cant do it he will tell you.

He is in the corner shop oposite the KIBTEK office at the end of the road with the Ataurk memorial on the quay in Girne

There is also a watch/clock repairer with a stall at Lambousa Market. He has all his certificates on display so think he is amply qualified.

Yup - really good . Put a new battery in my Rolex for 5TL. Suprised to see see that he had no end of similar watches in his window. Bond Street needs to look out.

Last time I had my Rolex GMT Master serviced in UK it cost me £250 and that was about 10 years ago. Des at the Lambousa market has just repaired it and serviced it for £80. It now keeps better time than it ever did.

Des is a fully qualified watch repairer and has the paper to prove it.

I can thoroughly recommend him to anyone with a quality mechanical watch that requires any work doing to it.

I, too, had my Rolex 'Oyster Perpetual' cleaned and serviced in London, about 10 years ago, I think at 'Watches of Switzerland' - it cost almost £300.

Never again! From its return, it has never kept good time since. I reckon I'd be better off buying a fake Rolex in Girne - at least they have a quartz movement!

I've used the man near the Dome Hotel many times for many timepieces - good and reasonably priced.

I took my Omega to the guy opposite Kibtek and he managed to mess it up completely. Couldn't have been easy. Shame because he talks a good fight. Never again.

Agree with Suleman the guy up the side road left of the Dome actually made a tiny new spring for the inside of my Rado. He didn't charge excessively bearing in mind what batteries and servicing of the watch cost in the UK. He has also serviced and provided batteries for my husband's Tag and Breitling watches. He is excellent.

Timefore do you mean the fake watch shop man to the right of the Dome? As I am sure if it was the guy we use he would have had your watch back to repair if you were unhappy.

Des may well be fully qualified with paper to prove it but all kinds of qualifications can be downloaded from the internet. Not saying his are but surely it's naive to rely on paper certificates.

panchocat the man I am talking about is just up the road opposite the dome. in the end my watch went back to the uk and thence back to omega. The cost to put the watch together back into original condition - a little under £400!!!

Panchocat, true qualifications can be downloaded from the internet but these weren't. Des actually did an apprenticeship & worked many years in U.K & Switzerland to obtain these certificates.

Ataturk his number is 0533 847 8511 or you can meet him any Saturday down at Lambousa market.

Go to Des, he's the best. Your'll find him in the garden section at Lambousa.
