Those of you with small dishes - NOT 4.2m - please try this.. on your SKY boxes

Take the remote pressServices, 4,4 ( add chnls)

enter freq 12402 - no need to change anything else..

then

FIND CHANNELS

please a tick by what you find - using the yellow button

Then go to Services, Other channels and hopefully you have ITV !!!!

If this works - let me know.. Iceman believes he can get you Channel 4, too )

Please NOTE - you DO need a SKY card for this to work !

Hi 6m, just tried this on my 1.8m dish (supplied by Iceman) and can now get ITV 1 Anglia, ITV 1 Central, More 4,C4,C4+1,E4,E4+1,TTon4.

Fantastic, any other channels we might be able to receive.

Also to view the channels I could not get to view them on main EPG, but had to do via SERVICES button, and then go down to 7 OTHER SERVICES- were these extra channels were that I had just added.

Thanks

Mike

You've just saved me lots of money. I don't have to pay for a VPN, then download, and watch it on a little laptop. That, along with your other tip, re: F1, you're the greatest. I vote you as "Most helpful Member".

I won't hear another bad word about you. NEVER.

To programme your Sky remote to operate your TV, try this link:

http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/sky-sky-tv/15406-common-tv-codes-your-sky-remote.html

I have a very old (Rev 4) remote and it worked fine.

Good luck.

Try this if you have got a HD box got it off another web site

To add ITV HD, go to the TV Guide, find Options in the top menu, then drop down and scroll along to Add Channels.

Change the Frequency details to 11.427 and press Select. (Nothing happens.) Then change Polarisation to H. Leave the Symbol Rate as 27.5 and FEC as 2/3. Then press the yellow button for Find Channels.

On the next page, there should be several services listed. Scroll down to Channel 10510 and press Store Channel. A tick will appear next to Channel 10510. This is the channel name for ITV HD, and it’s now stored in the box.

To view the channel, go to the TV Guide, find Options in the top menu, then drop down and scroll along to Other Channels. Drop the cursor into the apparently empty listing box — and Channel 10510 will then appear. Select the channel.

Hi Rigsby

only 971-4 Scotland, N.Ireland, Wales and London BBC 1s can be viewed in CY via a 4.2m - as you state- 975 BBC1's and above won't be viewable in CY :(

NORMALLY- BBC/ ITV/C4/ chnls are viewable without viewing cards...

I am wondering WHY these "new" ITV/C4 family chnls need cards - may be they are test chnls..may be it is temporary ?!

If you have a well installed 4.2m, you can view some more ITV regions via 10891 H 22.00 5/6..

Hi Rigsby

"well installed" will mean you can constantly get the channels on 10891 year round without break up...

Don't you think the guy who installs the dish should know what's available.. ?!

For me that's why Iceman is THE man... the guy others work with and hope to "emulate" ;)

Hi Mark

As per our conversation on the other thread regarding my apartment with the 3 dishes. If I take over an old skybox, plug it in and then follow these instructions will it work ? Or am i missing it completely ?

Cheers

Dear Rigsby

Yep, I'm a fan of Iceman - and that's because I was in the biz and have seen him in action and how other installers try to "crib" his techniques...

Iceman isn't very found of installations using multiswitches and long coaxial cable runs...watch this space..

He also manages to get out of bed on time ....;)

re msg 29 JanJin

If you want to get hold of Iceman - please check out msg 23 !

re msg 30

Sadly, Jamie your apartment would need a FORTH dish - a good, well installed 1.8m - pointing at the Astra 2 group of satellites and a separate feed - as a SKY box can't share feeds from other dishes :( You do need a SKY receiver and a freesat card, to receive the "new" stronger , ITV and C4 and a subscription ( starting from 12 GBP) to get more 4, E4, etc.. on this 1.8m

Anyone got the codes for BBC 1, 2, 3, 4, etc?

Now I can get ITV, it's absolutely amazing how long the adverts are on for. Some programmes have two 5-minute ad breaks within the first 25 minutes.

Is there a recordable device that does not record ads?

Yes, thanks. I'm now just trying to be greedy.

I bet 90% of those with 1.8m dishes have no idea they can get ITV + C4, etc. Possibly a new business venture.

I've got my new Sky card as well. Message up on screen, 4 days later card arrived in UK, 3 days later friend brought over card and in box same night.
