How long should you "not" use your pool for after adding chlorine?

You should be putting it in your skimmer, thus it will be disolved by the time it returns to the pool via the filter.

I've always been advised to put chemicals in the pool at evening time, saying that sun kills it quicker during the day.Having said that I maintain my own pool.
