Found this Monday morning, crossing the road near Ileli in Alsancak. A 4-weeks old (says the vet) Pointer (?). Lovely as all young dogs. We can't keep him/her, probably her. Our two big dogs won't allow "intruders".

So. What now? Is there anyone out there who wants to give this unfortunate animal a future?

Look at this picture and say - please! - yes this an irresistible offer: http://tinyurl.com/l2ngoh .

If you are the one this dog needs, call me at 0533 864 5433 or email me: hansdoeleman@allcrusades.com

The cactus is bigger than that little runt, cute though. Where does "Should he/she die..?! Yes, unless" come into it?

RE msg 3, britvic: (...) Where does "Should he/she die..?! Yes, unless" come into it? (...)

=> Just my old profession, britvic, when I learned that a headline should attract attention. Still seems to work!

On the other hand: do you happen to have another solution for the future of this puppy? KAR? Or?

I don't know any solution for any of the poor dogs and cats over their, even the many discussions on here (Cyprus44) haven't helped, and people seem to be fit to bursting with all the strays.

I wish I had a magic wand.

What a cutie !!!!

Unfortunately I am not there yet and I am bringing my dog over, but I can see us ending up with another one. This dog would cost you a lot of money in the UK. I paid £200 for my dog 10 years ago. He is an English Springer Spaniel - same colouring and markings, but long hair.

When cared for they are good friends and protectors - mine alerts me to everything even the phone and the alarm clock which would help any deaf person - it is easy to training to respond to sounds.

good luck - I hope you find a good home for her.

We have now named the puppy "Cutie". And surprise: if nobody takes her, she'll be the first prize in the first raffle I can find on this board... Congratulations!

I remember a year or two ago or so when I *promoted* another dog, "Brownie" - it took more than 1300 views before the dog found a home at board member Waddo's house. So why wouldn't it work this time?

"Cutie" has been to the vet who did some Turkish tricks and assured us the dog will be fine.

Serious now.

1 : We definitely CANNOT keep the dog (reason mentioned above).

2 : Should we drop "Cutie" at someone's door?

3 : Should we ask a vet to ""put "Cutie" asleep""? (Our vet won't do it).

4 : Should we "help" this young dog "Cutie" ourselves? (Euthanasia or whatever euphemism we use nowadays).

5 : Tell me: what should we do?!

Try giving KAR a bell and explain your circumstances. I know that they are full to bursting point up there but you never know.

RE msg 28, fiendishpaul: We've talked about your suggestion. Thank you. And we'll do it albeit only for our conscience. Would KAR take in a 4-weeks old dog, asking for almost hourly attention? Don't think so and I can't blame KAR.
