We are looking to move to Kyrenia (family of four, 2 children aged 8 and 2) and would like some advice on the best areas to consider?

the best area is upper kyrenia, thats the area directly above town, its close to everything, schools tennis courts etc... go a little high then u get a good climate for the summer, less condensation and a much healthier way of life. I would say at least 120 feet above sea level. Patara city area.

Ozankoy a village 2 miles east of Kyrenia. There are several ex pat families with children similar age to yours in this area and Catalkoy. They all seem to get on and parents take it in turns to take to clubs etc. 3 village shops, numerous places to eat and drink, large play area in centre of village, buses run regularly.

West Kyrenia, Alsancak, Lapta, Karsiyaka. Plenty of resturants, beaches, water park, Sunset Beach Club has paintball, quad bikes etc.

Hi Helenf, I'd say Patara City should suit you best. Good value, good on site facilities and security. Has everything the young family needs. Overlooks the local football stadium. 15 minute steady walk to sea front.

ermmm, might buy one mesen.

Hi

The water park mentioned by Stevie D is excellent. Alsancak & Lapta have a lot to offer. We have stayed on both sides of Kyrenia and found that the facilites on the west are better for families. I recommended the Aqua Park in Lapta to a couple 2 weeks ago and they came back and stated they all loved it and were going back the next day. It is not only for kids, we sunbathed and swam and the kids played. There is a small pool with slides a mushroom shower and a pirates ship for them to climb over and slide off into shallow water - suitable for both ages. The larger pool has large slides and added attractions for older kids who can swim. Then there is the swimming pool for Grandad and Grandma, whilst everyone else is enjoying themselves. We also had a meal and drinks and the whole day was very reasonable.
