Does anyone have a current e-mail address for this company.

The one on the website just keeps bouncing back.

Yes Turtle, I suspect that anyone dealing with that company and does not live in Cyprus is going through a similar process! In June it will be 5 years that we've been waiting for our house to be completed. Apparently the people whose houses are completed are the ones who were living in Cyprus and able to make a frequent nuisance of themselves (according to Necip's brother). I know that the quality of the build is very good but what use is that if you can't get a completed house? I wonder how many more times we are going to have to visit Cyprus and pay hotel bills..... How long have you been waiting and have you had any other problems?

Why indeed? You've got me started now! As I mentioned before, apparently if you are there to nag and moan in person then your house gets finished, otherwise you're on the back burner until he can be arsed to do anything. It's been almost finished for 3 years when all but the last installment was paid, and the tiniest steps towards completion are made when we spend a couple of weeks there to put the pressure on. Last June he said 6 weeks and it would be finished, last month he said 2 weeks. He, like all of the builders who were originally well intentioned, has been hit hard by the new taxes that the government keep landing on them and he's told us he wants out of the business as it's making him ill. I believe he's basically an honest man who's been shafted by his own government's ineptitude. I think he will finish it eventually but what was a lovely dream of a house in the sun has become a very long nightmare. But we know that we're lucky compared to a lot of people in TRNC who have had that dream, no mortgage on our land and the house has not disappeared in a mudslide!

Its a shame really as I have heard he is a vey honest man and a good builder with quality in mind.

It just amazes me that these type of builders just allow their good name to be dragged down.

I have just moved into my house in Lapta that was built by Necip. Still a bit of stuff to be done. His own workers work hard, its the electircians and plumbers that he contracts the wwork out to that are bone idle.

There is one electrician. He's from Azeberjan

.

He works hard, even comes out on his days off. Lovely bloke. He wanted to work in UK but couldn't get a visa so ended up here in TRNC. (big difference in wage, £30 an hour to probably £5)

We have 3 Necip villas across the road from us. I have tried telephoning Necip and leaving notes in the office and he never gets back to me. The 3 villas have been underpinned and are now cracking again. He took the spiral staircase down in my friends villa to do the underpinning last October and despite many e-mails from my friend and him trying to get Necip when he is here nothing.!

Another thing that was discovered this year (after 4 years) is that the solar panels are not connected to the water tanks, so the mystery of no hot water has now been solved.

Wow, this thread is going back a bit ?

Can I say we now have our property and we are very very pleased with it yes there was the usual snagging issue but generally finished to a very good standard.

Once we had made contact with Necip he has been very helpful and has kept us fully informed as to what was happening I think the Ataser name around Alsancak/Lapta is very well respected and having got to know him better he is a very honest and helpful guy.

I would recommend him and his company without doubt.

I know Necip and his family very well, they are my neighbours and they are the 'salt of the earth' and have helped me a lot over the years. The Ataser's are proud people and would ultimately not let anyone down.

Glad your place was sorted Turtle. Necip has never been a big player in the construction industry and has never wanted to be. He is a UK qualified chartered engineer and has taken on small projects with a couple of villas here and a block of apartments there and the odd block of shops. He is a very intelligent man and I know that the last government has caused him and other well meaning developers a lot of problems. Necip's first priority was to remove all bank mortgages on the land that he had purchased and that has been done but that obviously had an impact on ongoing works due to the present economic situation. Knowing now what I know about the Ataser organisation I would have used them over and above the company that we finally chose to build our villa.

AJ i agree with you 100% Necip has been my landlord for the past year and i speak as i find he is one of the most honest people you could wish to meet and i would not hesitate to recommend his company to anyone.

All the constuction companies have faced big problem with the ever changing laws but the Ataser family are a local well respected family and will stand by their word.
