hi keith

its quite easy to set up direct debit with your bank all you do is go in to the bank and say to them you want to set up otomatik odeme all you do is give them your current bill and they do the rest, water bill you will have to find out what bank does direct debit with the council because not all banks take direct debit with the water, and as far as i know council tax (emlak vergisi) you will have to pay this person at your local council office

hope this helps

regards

ukturk

hi keith,

I paid my water bill in february in Alsancak and they told me that the only bank that they would accept standing orders from was the iktisabank, which is a cypriot bank.

there is a branch in Girne just off the main street on the left where the turkish bank is.

You go upstairs where there is an english speaking department and they help you throughout the process.

I was very impressed with their service.

cheers
