This sort of thing is always good news, but given that such marriages are so rare it is an indicator of how wide the gap really is.

Cross-cultural marriages in places like Europe and USA are so common as to be quite normal.

CY has a long way to go.

My honest opinion.......it's not going to last........when it comes to naming the child, and whether or not (if the child is a he) will have a circumcision (and whether the child will be christened), things will start to turn the wrong way. These are problems which are VERY hard to escape. I dont mean to be evil.......just realstic and according to previous experiences from what i have seen.



Yorgozlu.......why is there peace though? It's not because Turkish and Greek cypriots "seem" to be getting along, or because Turkish cypriots unertake shopping trips in the south.

There is only peace because the two ethnic groups live SEPERATTELY, and that the Turkish forces have a hopefully long lasting presence on the island.

No peace came to the island from 61-74 until the Turkish intervention. One this took place, the murder of TC's and British civilians came to a halt, which is what is generally regarded as "peace".

my husband friend TC is married to a GC girl since 37 years - still living in CYPRUS - her mother marry a TC before - it is continuing an that's good !
