It is pleasing to see Fabio Capello building an England team who play for 90 minutes, don't go into their shell and keep creating chances. Let's hope they keep developing- might even worry Brazil or our "friends" from France or Germany. A bit of a shame that the diver scored for Croatia. I even think DC through his orange tinted spectacles might have been impressed.

I liked the fact we were at least 3 nil up and Capello was going mad at johnson for not defending properly

That is what has been needed for a while a manager who will keep em at it for the whole 90 mins of a game

we do need a better defencive number 2 than johnson he is great going forward but not so good at his defencive duties

I also to be truthful am not greatly impressed with robert green in goal

Johnson plays a very special role.

A floating defender.

Very skilled and unique.

Not just a full back coverage role, kick it out.

Runs with the ball, affects and disturbes opposition.

Leave the rest to the tacklers and central header men.

A defensive winger, with an awesome left foot ........ cool.

I agree about Glen Johnson - but if he can sort out his defending then he would be superb and he now has a year to get it together. As for Robert green - there isn't a better Keeper in the country at the moment. Also, given that England always seem to go out of major tournamants on penalties, It wont have escaped Capello's notice that Green is the premierships number one penalty stopper with over 50% saved in the last 3 seasons!!!!

Anyway - see you in South Africa people... ENG-GER-LAND, ENG-GER-LAND, ENG-GER-LAND!!!!

RE msg1, arthus: (...) I even think DC through his orange tinted spectacles might have been impressed. (...)

=> Well done, England! The team is definitely improving under its new master. A team to reckon with. How about England - Holland in the 2010 final..?

Brazil have had right backs who can't defend for years and it hasn't done them any harm
