This is just a warning for anyone thinking of having fly screens fitted by Mr Fly;



In July we had fly screens fitted by Mr Fly and were very happy with the result. The day we were leaving to come back to UK however, we realised that the shutter in the bathroom could not be closed because the fly screen had been fitted in the wrong position...as we are in a bungalow we were concerned about the security risk but had to leave the shutter open. As soon as we got home we e-mailed John at Mr Fly and he assured us that it would be sorted as soon as we returned.



We returned to TRNC 2 weeks ago and contacted Mr Fly, it was arranged that he would come and inspect last Monday OR Tuesday before 12 noon - no sign of him either of those days, despite numerous phone calls to Linda in his office, and her telling us he had our number and would call us direct. He eventually came out last Saturday...no apology for his failure to make the previous appointments just his usual "cocky" attitude. (cont)

He took off one side of the frame and said he would have to have it altered by the factory to allow for the shutter handle - he said it was a "5 minute job" and would return Monday to fit it - needless to say he never arrived and despite several more phone calls to Linda, he still hadnt arrived by the time we left to come back to UK yesterday.



He never rang us at all, only contact was with Linda who had the nerve to say that I "had to understand that their priority was to new customers having fly screens fitted as after all they are getting bitten" !! The fact that we have already paid in full means they dont care a damn, they have our money thanks!



All this aggro really upset me, since getting our place in March all the other tradesmen we have had at the house could not have been more helpful, but if this alerts anyone else to this c**p service I hope its a warning.



I now need to find someone who will put a new screen in, will do separate posting on that perhaps?

He's only interested in your money, full stop, service doesn't come into it I'm afraid, I've heard countless people say the same about Mr Fly. to anyone considering Mr Fly be very careful and preferably go elsewhere to get good quality screens, you have been WARNED

You are soooo right WotNoDeeds!



Another thing was, he quoted me a price during our first visit in March to have screens fitted to everything except the front door, when he came to measure in July, I was busy doing something else and hubby took him around while he measured up - it wasnt till the job came to be done I realised he had missed off the 2 bedroom patio doors, but we were charged the same price...when I challenged him he said he dealt with 100's and 100's of customers and couldnt be expected to remember all the details - he reckoned he never made any notes of quotes he had given.



He has a horrible attitude and I hope it all comes round to bite him on the bum one of these days, I would rather pay someone else now to do the remaining work than have him in my home again!



All the other tradesmen we have used have been great, the plumber,Orhan, even fitted new shower cubicle etc while were here in UK and his wife cleaned up all the mess after him, great stuff

I feel for you jax47, but I'm glad someone has finaly seen Mr Fly in his true light, there are some honest people out here but finding them is getting harder ! does Orhan the plumber fit tanks ? (that go on roof) if he does have you got his number ?

I'm sure Orhan will be able to fit tanks - he is Corgi registered -he has done allsorts of jobs for us - he installed the central heating in our house originally for the previous owner(though we didnt realise when we called him out for something else) has moved the pump from the roof to the ground as it was too noisy, changed taps, installed shower cubicle with a tiled base, even took us to the showroom and got us his discount, tiled around the barbeque and lots of other bits and pieces.



He is a really nice young man, is very helpful and I trust him completely.

We had Mark Jehan to do ours very good service from the start , had a slight problem with one of the screens , Mark came back no problem what so ever would def recommend !!!!

When I told Linda in Mr Fly's office that we would make it our business to let everyone know what a rubbish service they provide and would she pass that on to him - her reponse was that she wouldn't as then "he will just clam up and never contact you!!" Would we know the difference I wonder??



I really hope these postings stop anyone else from losing money to him or at least be VERY careful in their dealings with him.

Maybe someone should call him in, measure up and agree for installation then fob him off with some bullshit story of money delay transfers from the UK. Then on the day of payment all those that have been 'ripped off' gather at the allotted time and place and are payed off in front of him in cash of monies due, leaving him with, say, 15 TL? Job done and sorted!

I HAVE BEEN READING YOUR COMMENTS ON THE FORUM AND I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A STATEMENT REGARDING THEIR CONTENT.

WE BEEN TRADING 4 YEARS AND HAVE FITTED OVER 2000 HOMES WITHIN THE TRNC. WE MAY BE LATE ON OCCASIONS DUE TO PRESSURE OF WORK AND MAY BE GUILTY ON NOT PHONING CUSTOMERS WHEN THEY WANT US TO BUT WE HAVE FULLFIED OUR CONTRACTS TO CUSTOMER`S SATISFACTION.

ON THE COMMENTS THAT WE DID NOT FIT A CUSTOMER`S TOILET SCREEN WITHIN THE TIME REQUIRED WAS DUE TO THE FACT WE HAD TO SEND MATERIALS TO BE MACHINED WHICH WERE NOT BACK IN TIME.

THE COMMENTS OF ARROGANCE, COCKYNESS AND DISHONESTY WE REGARD AS A PERSONAL ATTACK ON AN INDIVIDUAL.

EVERY CUSTOMER WHO HAS SIGNED A CONTRACT WITH US HAS RECEIVED WHAT THEY PAID FOR. WE ARE DISAPOINTED BECAUSE WE HAVE WORKED SO HARD IN A VERY DIFFICULT BUSINESS ENVIROMENT, IN A COUNTRY WITH MANY EMBARGO’S, COMMENTS LIKE THIS CAN DESTROY ALL OF OUR HARD WORK.

Just read this and I feel I have to state the Mr Fly gave us exemplary service, can't fault his work or integrity. Gave us a quote and stuck to it, even though it was about a year before we were ready for the work to be completed.

Mr Fly must be on the wall, spying! Two quick initial posts to exonerate himself for any misdoings, procrastinating that the money goes to 'charity' instead of executing his contracts with those that have paid him! Bullshit! The man should set himself up a law firm where the pickings are far richer, obviously doesn't need any retraining in that area!

Mr Fly, Maybe if you had explained to jax47 (jacki) that you needed to match the screen and therefore taking a little longer, they would not have felt the need to post on here, the worst thing about getting anything done in NC is the lack of communication with any business especially when living in the UK.

It is most frustrating when emails are ignored or you have to speak through a third person as jax47 have had to do, please give a little more consideration to your customers, otherwise you will have none.

I do believe that it is up to you to contact this disgruntled customer and resolve the situation, once that is done they can then give you a positive post.

Had fly screens fitted by Mr Fly last year and very happy with the service. came out and measured up on time quoted price and fitted on time, no problems at all. Sometimes people just get really busy and sometimes the fault is not theirs but due to circumstances beyond their control. I don't think it is right that people should go on a forum and run somebody down, when they are not even a customer.

We used Mr Fly and he came, quoted, fitted in our time scale, could not fault him, he made a very good job, and have had no problems. So sorry to hear of all the folks who have had a bad service, but we could not fault him or his work. Even recommended him else where, so hope things can be sorted,
