In the early hours of this morning (Sat) as myself & 2 friends were leaving the Beach Lagoon bar, I'm afraid a female, golden labrador ran out into the road and was badly hit by a passing car. She ran into the side of the Celebrity Hotel where she lay in a bad way. We ran after her but I'm afraid she died. If anyone knows who owns this dog or it is you, I am so sorry. All that I can say is that she wasn't alone when she died, we stayed with her & comforted her until the end. The driver of the car slowed down (but did not stop) and after she had passed away, we asked some members of staff who had come out with torches, if they would call the Lapta Belediyesi to have her removed and they promised they would.

This is so sad and extremly unfortunate. I offer my condolences. Also this goes to highlighting the problem of dog-proofing your garden....my own garden is well dog proofed, but on occassion can sometimes get out, i am lucky that i live in a small village where cars cannot go too fast (in theory) but if EVER this happens to one of my beloved pets, i seriously hope there will be someone there with them....Mia, i am so sorry you had to see this, but also thankful to you for being there for her.

What a sad thing to have seen, and though it must have been very upsetting for you Mia, so good of you to stay with the dog until she passed away. Her owner, will have appreciated that, I know I certainly would have.

I was with Mia when this terrible accident happened, can I just add that the dog was large and looked well fed. Mia was amazing the way she comforted her until the end. We had only just crossed the road, the car seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. My other friend was inconsolable, seems to be a common occurence here. So very sad.

Thanks Mindy. Yes, she certainly didn't look like a stray that's why I posted on here in the hope that someone will see it.
