Thanks for everyones input on the banking 20k question! You have given me a good insight into what our money would return. Me and other half are thinking of moving over to nc in the future but we only have 20k savings, thinking of renting and coming back to work in the uk for 3 months every year which would give us 7k to live on and interest would pay the rent! Am I dreaming or could this work? Thanks mp3 Fed up in the uk lol

hi mp3 you are not dreaming this can be possiable, but what i will say to you like i have mentioned to posters on this site, if you come over here with the same expectations of living like in the u.k you will fall flat on your face, if you are the type of person who will be drinking all day and night going out to resturants and basically living in holiday mode you wont last long belive you me!!!!! and one other thing which is critical and again i say to everyone, when you go shoping for food dont always compare to the price how it is in the u.k, going for u.k products is a novelty not essential you can always find the same turksih products for considerably much cheaper and alwyas remember a typical cypriot monthly wage is between 500ytl to 1000ytl and this is including rent, bills, shoping etc so what you might think is cheap is sometimes not that cheap at all, so as soon as you get their change your frame of mind to like a local and you wont go wrong!!! good luck warm regards ukturk

Thanks for the info ukturk. I know what you mean about the food shopping etc stayed with my mum for a few weeks who has been in Lapta since nov, went food shopping and with a guided push opted for the turk version rather than the uk version lol So expensive for uk branded things! Thanks again mp3
