Is anyone interested in playing squash in the Girne/Lapta area?

Don't think there are any courts in the Lapta area. In fact not sure if there are any in Girne. When I asked about them 4 years ago all I got was bank stares nobody seemed to know what I was talking about.

We posted only yesterday about the excellent squash courts on the University campus,on the road to Guzelyurt.

We play there regularly,- 20 TL per court, unlimited time, since we're the only users. An excellent sports complex,- closed at weekends until term begins again. If interested, look for earlier posting, probably now on Page 2.

My husband used to love playing squash and we went to see the courts at the uni @ guzelyurt and they are good with what appeared to be proper sprung floors however it is a bit of a hike if you want to play 3 times a week for fitness.

There were some at the Rocks Hotel, be warned they were ridiculously expensive when it first opened but what the story is now, I have no idea .... they may not even be there anymore!

Apparently there are some in Nicosia (south).

There are no squash courts in th Lapta rea BUT I have a potential location but need sponsers to support me as a team.

We would need to talk to the Lapta Belediye to remodel one of their buildings.

ANYONE INTERESTED?

Please can you give any indication of where this potential building is located?

Hi, are you still playing squash at the uni?

My partner & I play there each week and wondered if you fancied a match?

If you are still playing, would you like to car share as it is a bit of a hike!

Please feel free to email me.

At the risk of being boring I wish to support the very sound advice given by goonerstan. As fitness and skillls improve so does the level of exertion required particularly when playing with partners equally fit and skilled. The joys of playing the chess of ball games and chasing down the ball in every rally in a competitive spirit can lead to a war of physical attrition way beyond what the human body was designed for and in a very short period of time, probably more than any other sport. I have witnessed in my time the likes of University Rugby and Rowing Blues who have, even with their undoubted physical fitness, been reduced to sweating, gasping, wrecks, on their knees in the corner of a court, with many games in the match still to be contested. Sadly, I also saw one who did not recover. All that said, I hope you all gain immense enjoyment from a sport which I love and learned much from so please take good care of each other on and off the court. "let" please ?

Hi Deputydawg, very sound advice. Luckily, my partner has been playing for 35 years and is the North Cyprus Champion 2 years running. I, on the other hand, used to play years ago and have taken it up again. I am having to play my partner as there is a distinct lack of squash players here, it would be great if more people here played (at varying levels), then I wouldn't be one of those sweating, gibbering wrecks in the corner of the court!!

Hi all,

Thought this would be a good thread to post my thread:

2 Squash Rackets including 4 squash balls: Both Wilson, one Titanium Comp and other Wilson Power, both with cover.

Also 2 Racquetball Rackets, Dunlop Graphite Superlite, and 2 balls, also both with covers.

All rackets hardly used.

All you players should know the value, make me an offer
