I have found a great new cafe in bahceli (by accident)

Coming from Esentepe turn left at the Bahceli crossroads follow to the old coast road and turn right, about 300m on the left hand side you will come across Emily's cafe and bar which serves homemade english and cypriot food as well as doing cream teas and cakes and a rather fine english breakfast

i can well recomend a visit

Has anyone else found it yet?

Best Turkish food I have had yet! All made by local Turkish people and brought into the cafe ready to eat. This is good local food and must be tried to be appreciated. Place just getting started but already a favourite even with a 30 min drive to get there. All the food, European and Turkish is well worth the visit. Try it and see.

Yes I do agree, great for us Bahceli people.

Our local now, good food and good choice of drinks, owners very friendly.

Starting themed nights for food.

Husband can walk down to watch footy, he's well pleased.

Pipie, from Tatlisu go towards Girne, at the main Bacheli turning on the left ,you will see a Lastic tyre garage on the right and before that the tall telecom aerial mast. Turn in towards the sea before the mast on the dirt track and Emiiie's is 200M off the main road directly behind the aerial mast and flats (sorry apartments lol) on the old coast road. If you miss the first turning, go right at the Lastic place, and then right again on the coast road. Difficult to miss as there is nothing else on that side of the main road except bondu, a few cows in a byre, unfinished flats etc etc

best regards

I've been here six weeks, from the day the bar opened. Havent been in once. The thought of coming to N Cyprus to watch bloody football and eat pie and peas does'nt really appeal to me. I came here for different reasons.

I understand there's a Turkish night once a week, and maybe give it a try. But if the tv is on showing British football, then it is a no go.

Suntanman - Couldn't agree more! Football and English food???? Why leave the UK apart from the weather? Good luck to them, it sounds as if they've put a lot of hard work into the business but we'll stick to the local places doing traditional food.

They do both English and Cypriot food with a Cypriot Chef. Last night they did a great Cypriot Buffet/ meze and kebabs 15 TL for the Bufe and 20 TL if you want a kebab etc as well.

Highly recommended

Yes it was on but I ate outside which is much nicer anyway and well separated from the Bar and TV area.

I think they will soon enclose a section outside as well for when its too cold to eat out to deal with this.

I don't follow football either so I know what you mean but in this case its not an issue.

Ate there the other night. The food is excellent.

The bar is proving to be very successful, but if you go late, the menu is limited., but well woth a try.

I would like to put the record straight.

Emily's is not a restuarant. It's a bar that sells food. And the food is bloody good!! It is the talking point of everyone over here in the Bacheli area, and a much needed asset to the local community.

My name was mentioned there the other night, and I feel guilty for possibly giving the place a bad report. My opologies to the owners if I appeared to have a negative view. (but I still don't like football)

I'll be across there again very soon to sample your famous steak pie.

Andrew, loads of us are going tomorrow for the footy(and for my tea).Get yourselves there. For someone who lived 200 yards away from Belle Vue and whose father-in-law played for Donny Rovers then there is a chink of light for us to work on.Come the world cup next year you will know the offside trap backwards

Very nice cafe food first class. But why do they still let people smoke inside. what is the law regards to smoking when food is being served.

Smoking inside is not allowed in public places. It does not matter whether food is being served or not.

Well if smoking is allowed inside I certainly won't be using it. Lost trade there too. Also illegal.

Strange that, friends were there last night and folk were smoking away quite merrily. Obviously think they're above the law!

Is it signed posted in any way? - sounds great (apart from the smoking) especially when local people provide local food.

Coming from Esentepe turn left at the bahceli crossroads by the tyre (lastic) garage follow the road to the old coast road approx 1km turn right and it is approx 600m on the lefthand side. Regarding Smoking the acctual law states that Larger bars (define larger) that provide no smoking areas can permit Smoking according to the Cypriot Owner who am i to argue. Also if anyone is Eating or anyone objects to anyone smoking then no-one smokes so i can't see the problem and no-one has commented to anyone behind the bar or in the kitchen before so yet again it is a case of this forum being used by jealous people and in the case of one of the comments someone who has only been in twice since the bar was opened

Humph, Humph,Humph, here come the smoking police - or is that the police smoking?????? When the warm nights hit will all the smokers be confined to being inside the bar or maybe sent across to the cliff edge to blow the smoke out to sea. Don't envy you your fight to please all the people all of the time - someone said you could not do that, go on, prove em wrong!!

Great place to sit and watch the sun go down and the food is perfect. Good luck for the new season.
