Hi all, probably an old chestnut, we are due out at the weekend and were hoping to take stay in our apartment. Have found out that it is a public holiday Monday and Tuesday and will not be able to arrange for our electric or water meters. Is there any way we can get them fitted before we arrive? The site is complete therefore there is no builder electric.

It's a while since we did ours but then you had to produce your passports, contract, etc. Kibtek wouldn't allow us to do it on behalf of friends. May be possible if someone here has Power of Attorney for you. Pretty sure we had to do similar at the Belediye for water supply.

Can't you contact the builder to do this for you and then pay him when he gets here. If you give him your passport number or better still e-mail or fax him a copy of your passport and copy of your contract. (which he should have anyway)

Cost last month for a friend was Kibtec electricity 949 tl

Cost for water meter Lapta Belidiye 1323.85 tl

Good Luck

Chris

Thanks so much.

Tried the builder, didn't get any joy, told us it was too expensive for him to do it for us.

Tried the Advocate who has power of attorney but she said she couldn't do it.

Unfortuneately haven't spent enough time there to have made friends who could do it for us.

Hadn't realised that the water meter would cost so much!! haven't come across the costing for that before.

Had been quoted 800TL for the electric.

No help from elko then! Looks like we will have to struggle through the Bank holiday and try and sort it after.
