this must be the most consistant bar in the area. they charge the same prices all year round never ripping you off in the high season. most do but are also ripping the expats off who live here why they go back to these places in the winter i will never know. from the owners and there fantastic staff you will get the best welcome and service i have seen. even when you have finished they will take the time to wish you goodbye. they serve english and turkish breakfast till 5 0 clock aswell as a comfort food menu and full al a carte menu which is all spot on. they have a seperate room for pool darts and sports t v.they also have a very popular take away menu. the owners and all the staff will spend time with you having a laugh or joke and you will meet some of the best down to earth people on the island. james, jud, tony, kit, bob,john, steve and theres eddie and rob great characters. last but not least kenan head man who will go out of his way to help you kocan licence etc get down enjoy



forgot to mention they have happy hour 2 till 6 with extra discounts on drinks so go enjoy all the above with cheap drinks they just can not do enough for you

Hopefully the place has changed. We were regulars there for a long time until Hassan decided to try and shaft us with the bill. Even Kenan said he was mistaken Hassan insisted he was right. Of course we only paid for what we had and not what he marked down we had. None of us drink Bacardi and Coke or Efes Dark (does anyone for that matter???)



We were there most Friday nights summer and winter sometimes the only people in there until Clive and his wife came in for a drink.



Kenan is a lovely bloke though and the fish and chips were also fantastic, just a pity that trying to shaft regulars for something like 20 tl cost them more in the longrun.

stubs must be a one off as i and loads of others have never been ripped off just the opposite i have never let one problem stopped me going anywhere again give it a go again and if i am in there or me mate tony i am sure we would give you a run for your money at pool ask kenan who is third best player now

great place, lovely people, my husband always looks at the menu and ALWAYS orders fish chips and mushy peas!! (no menu needed) this dish is always so huge that I can never finish it!! the chicken dishes are divine and the mixed kebab is a HUGE plateful!!! we have taken our guests there for years and we love it!! mmmmm the chip shop pickles and gerkins, YUMMY x

I never said it was a one off, it didnt need to happen in the first place. No amount of reasoning with the man would convince him that neither of the 4 of us had either Efes dark or Bacardi and Coke. He also tried to charge us for more games of pool. Even Kenan told him he was making a mistake with the bill but he was having none of it.

His loss.



It left us a problem though as it became a long drive to Dhekelia for some decent fish and chips as at that time the Codbaba was under previous owners and used frozen chips!

why be so cynical that i am on comission its a great place this forum is to tell other forum members whats good on the island and i am telling you this place is fantastic stubs as you said befor you never got charged for anything you did not have so whats the problem be a man and go back loads of bars rip the brits off but i can assure you this one does not

There are plenty of bars between Girne and Lapta where I can spend my money without being ripped off. Out of principle we have never returned even though the food, in particular the fish and chips, were fantastic.

Ive been going to the Ravine for 5 years Never had a problem Staff always polite and smiling (Even the only gay in the Village, chef Hasan)Sorry thats a private joke between Hasan and I Always had good food good repartee with the staff and good gang of local/brit customers Points out of 10. 11 awarded. i like it there and think it is good value for money i have not been ripped off and will use it every time i am at that end of town wife cant wait till her next fish and chips with pickle oinions i always say if you think it is a rip off pay the bill and dont go back . they are always busy so to me that shows one thing
