I actually have my own knitting pattern for a particular dog, but I need it reducing in size so the actual dog is quite a bit smaller. I can stitch really well but can't knit! If you can reduce a pattern, please let me know.

It would work if you used smaller needles and say a four ply instead of double knitting wool or a three ply instead of four ply. What ply should it be knitted in?

The particular yarn I need to use is a DK fur. If I used smaller needles (or maybe someone else did as I am not very good at knitting!), would that be the answer? If so, could anyone knit the pattern for me (which I will supply) and I will supply the yarn? Please let me know....

Obviously I am not the expert in this but using smaller needles may result in a tougher finish i.e. not as soft as the one knitted with larger size needles. Am I wrong? ismet

Hi Twinkletoes, I'm no expert, but I do knit a lot and quite well. If you use smaller needles it will just come out tight and thicker. If you can find 4 ply furry wool and use say size 10 or 31/4 needles, that would do it. Otherwise if you don't need to have it too shaggy knit it in ordinary 4 ply and brush it with a wire brush when it is finished. I have a Bagpuss pattern which is made flufy in this way,
