L/D your comments are a little unfair , concerned buyers just E-mail or attend HBPG tuesday meetings ,Llog inti there website for updates/news , this is no way hounding , HBPG very kindly offers advice and prospective buyers seek this advice , owners do the same , it must be very comforting for these folk to have HBPG to turn to , I think your comments would certainly offend these folk if they thought contact was as you put it hounding . TUT TUT L/D .

Hi Pipie,

Over the summer months nothing does happen here. Courts are closed most of the government go on holiday, LOL.

The sugeries still take place at Pia Bella but remember that the HBPG are volounteers and they have their hols as well.

They really do try hard to get info and answers to questions but I know from recently talking to Marian that she has spent a lot of time trying to chase the "new" government officials and just does not get time to answer all her mail. Has anyone one read on HBPG site the minutes of the meeting in August, I think 12th, where a new official states in minutes that they did not know they were problems buying properties???? Reading that you will understand the probs of Marian & co.

I will be interested in what appears over next few days. Met our solicitor today and she said they had all been called to a meeting with new judge in Girne today and told to get act together regarding building issues.

Why is it that some people prefer to sit on their fat *rses in front of a computer screen and complain about others? Why do they never consider actually getting up and offer help? The HBPG are swamped with work and are unpaid. I would suggest that those who critizise look at their own efforts to help others before they tap away their silly little grips.

I have contacted the HBPG and they have been fantastic. I contacted by phone, email and also went to the meetings. I received emails which were very detailed and provided a lot of good advice which has been forwarded to my fellow buyers on the site.

The HBPG is a voluntary group which studies the laws, rights and conditions of all aspects of buying houses. There are only 2 people running it and the are seriously overworked

- maybe an offer of help would make a difference

- maybe going to the Pia Bella (between the 2 swimming pools at the back) and ask the questions - you get immediate answers and also support from the others

- maybe going to them is better that waiting for them to leave what they are doing and come to you.

cyprusishome .

Good post . We forget that summer months courts are closed and yes as you say ministers are on holiday so yes maybe this is the reason HBPG do not appear to have feedback/update at present , good reminder about what is going on . I personally have followed the website for years now , and really appreciate all of there efforts , cheers !!

It appears that government ministers have their 'hands tied' tied, due to gross nepotism and peer pressure, and this is the real reason why HBPG's 'panacea' for the construction industry's, coupled with the legislature's woes cannot, and likely will not be implemented.
