Hi Cruggs
I think it really depends on the individual builder. Ours didn't give us any form of written guarantee but returned each time we had any problem and sorted it out without any fuss or charge. Obviously there is also the danger that your builder could go out of business during the guarantee period and there is no insurance type of cover like in the UK to sort it out if this happens.
Personally I would take it with a pinch of salt. Builders have to build to a standard and remember the bricks are only there to stop the rain and water entering the building they don't really have any structural value. Its the steel and concrete that hold up the building.

Same as Kaz, our builders have been very good at comming out to fix things, really does depend on the individual, and incidentally, our builder has told us it doesn't matter if we have a problem many years in the future, they are always there to help us.

You should try and speak to previous customers direct and get feedback. We are still waiting for our developer to fix our problems a year later!

hi kazzi.thanks for your reply to my question.you may have also explained another observation in that you say that the ytong bricks or blocks have no
structual importance to the building, as i noticed the brickwork to the concrete, piers, were not keyed in, in any way but if as you say they are there
just to keep the rain out.you have killed two birds with one stone thanks lol!!!
p.s sorry about the donkey comment
