hi guys

happy st george's day, in actual fact st george was a roman soldier and was born in turkey so everyone celebrates this day in honour of a turk and is the patron saint of many countries i.e canada, greece, china, portugal, russia and many more countries, fact of the day!!!! lol

in turkey we dont celebrate this day for st george its actual a bayram in turkey and in cyprus çocuk bayram (childrens day) and also the same day when ataturk formed the Republic of Turkey's Grand National Assembly after defeating and pushing out the english, french, italians and the greeks out of turkey

and in ataturks famous words ' Children are a new beginning of tomorrow' so bayram kutlu olsen to all the turkish children

warm regards

Yes, you are right UKTurk & I heard a very witty poem this morning on Radio

4 by a Scottish poet which lists all these countries he is connected with. Have been to Aya Yiorgi in Princes Islands years ago (St. George's) Of course, we all

know St. Nicholas was born in Turkey too (Santa) don't we?

hi guys

no st patrick was actually a british roman who was captured by irish raiders and taken to ireland and was a slave for six years before he escaped and returned back to his family in britain, later on in his life he retunred to ireland as a missonary and later become a patron of ireland

and of course st nicholas was a turk aswell born in antayla but at the time it was a greek roman provience who came from a rich family and went around on a certain day giving present to the poor kids of the villiages in secret, then this got americanised and tuned in to a big fat bloke from the south pole ridinf on a sleigh with raindeer on xmas eve typical of the americans!!!! lol

in actual fact the real patron saint of england british born and english grace of god was st edmund hence the name bury st edmunds, and its then after st george whos dad was from turkey and mum from israel become a patron appointed by king edward the 3rd
