We have booked a couple of flights and paid for the baggage, but looking at the airlines itinerary it comes up with this daft statement (What I cannot get my head around is the) : If the combined total weight of all bags is more than 22kg you will incur an excess baggage charge at the airport

Can someone explain, are we allowed 10kg hand and 22kg of hold luggage.... its been a long day !

Hand baggage - One item weighing up to 10kg measuring up to 50cmx38cmx26cm.And Checked baggage - 22kg of hold baggage. However, there is a cost for each individual bag per flight. If the combined total weight of all bags is more than 22kg you will incur an excess baggage charge at the airport, in addition to the individual bag charge. No single bag can weight more than 25kg.

What a lot of incomprehensible jargon. The obvious conclusion is, no matter how YOU interpret it we are are going to charge you lots of money on the day!

I think it is 22kg total weight for the hold. Is there a Questions and answers section you can go on to check. Are you paying for the 22kg or not.If not then that might be the grand total you can take.

Do Jet2.com fly into Ercan from Manchester. If so are they cheaper than KTHY.

I flew with Jet2 from Leeds to Larnaca in July..You are allowed 22kgs for the hold and the case cannot exceed 25 kgs in weight. If you are over the 22 kgs you will be charged £8 per kg. If the case weighs over 25 kgs you will be asked to remove items from the case.

My cases weighed well over..we was returning back from the UK and had gone a little mad with the shopping..had to buy another suitcase at the airport and split the 3 cases we had into 4 and ended up paying £258 excess. Cost more than what it would have to book another seat !!

Be careful with the dimensions with the hand luggage,I have a case with those dimensions and they are the same dimensions as ryanair,at Doncaster airport the case fits into box where they check the dimensions at check in and it didn't fit at Leeds Bradford???

So they charged me £16 to check it in the hold, next time I go I'm taking a tape measure to check it.

Thanks Debdebs I thought that was the case. I got nabbed for £110.00 for being overloaded in July with Thomas Cook (On the return flight) !

Gooligan also been there, I used a shoe horn and it just fitted into the box !

Tony last minute thing all the Ercan flights booked up.

Just been asking almost same q on other post! Booked with pegasus and got bogged down on their luggage comments - extra for 2nd bag -does this mean hand luggage - what about ladies large handbags?? sometimes they are heavier than handluggage - not mine hasten to add -but my handluggage has been known to be so heavy I cant lift it to locker!! Have they started weighing handluggage? What about stuff bought in duty free - thats another bag as well. Will they start charging for extra carrier bags at the Gate next??

mamachina only 1 hand luggage allowed (Ladies handbag counts as 1), do not think there is a problem with the duty free carrir bag (I have never been pulled)
