If you move to NC do you need a blood test done every year? If you buy a place, use it yourself for 2>3 months a year & rent it out the rest of the time,do you need to get a blood test done? I only ask as i saw something about this on an estate agencies site & i have a serious problem with needles!! Last injection i had was about 2 years ago & 4 guys restrained me to stop me lashing out,it's pathetic i know,i must see a shrink about it. I'm laughing now writing this, but i know i'll be a problem if i need this done! Cheers....

If you are applying for temporary residency or a work permit, then yes you do need a blood test in your first year only.

I may be wrong here, but I think you only need to have a blood test if and when you apply for your residency, I`m sure someone will put me right if need be. Good luck Lesley b

Ok,if i buy a place, rent it out & just use it myself for 2 months a year would i need a blood test? Has everyone else who's bought apartments to rent had to have one? If they have,i'd better book myself to see a shrink before i purchase!!!! Ta.

Just to make it clear,i would still reside in UK,so it would be for rental to tourists & my own personal use 2 months a year. This wouldnt be classed as temporary residence or full residence would it? Funny i hate needles,my girlfiend hates flying, what a great combination!! Ta..

No you will not need a blood test if you are only staying for 2 months. Your initial visa will last for 90 days (this will quite often be renewed for another 90 days everytime you leave TRNC - even if only to go South or Turkey or back to UK for the day/week/month/year ). As such you would not have to apply for temp residency until after the 3 month time on visa (ie - 90 days). So you should have no prob at all. You are worying "Needlessly " SORRY I am NOT taking the mick but could not resist ! Couldn't help it ( I have phobia about birds - which cause MAJOR MAJOR probs here with Pigeons !!!! so do sympathsise ) SORRY but do not worry and GOOD LUCK x

Ha Thanks cleos, I was expecting more mickey taking,my friends think its ridiculous, this needle phobia i have, even i know i'm being pathetic! I can't understand peeps with phobia's about flying or spiders! In fact i'm so bad,my medical notes have a warning to doctors that i'm likely to react adversely to being poked with a needle! I will one day see a shrink. Cheers for your replies...
