I have spoken on skype to UK a few times and it was not bad but everytime I tried to speak to the dark side it was not comprehensible. I had to go back to land lines.

Although I admittedly haven't tried the dark side I have found that as long as you have a reasonable speed connection Skype works very well almost everywhere, US, UK, russia, middle east, crete and a few others in both directions

I had a feeling it was at my end Richard but thanks for the confirmation. They have set up wireless routers on the platform recently and the broadband is now more stretched than Katie Price's bra strap when she inhales.

I'll stick to text chatting for now and besides I can call on the land line for free so it's not really needed here.

I think you've confused me with someone else. Never set up a telescope in my life. I know we were going to the GG for a beer with Hans but he never accepted the offer and although we are in a peace mode at the moment I don't think he would take up the offer now.

Maybe on my next home trip we can get together down the old town for a few.

I think I can still get my hands on a 22 mm insert for the Charlie G 81 mm system. Nowhere near the devastation but much more accurate and far stealthier.

Voip stunt is a better reception and same as skype except you can't use a webcam. The best thing is you get unlimited free calls to landlines to most parts of the world, so if granny has no internet perfect. The set up is the same as skype.

I have used Skype a lot. I used it when in TRNC (Karsiyaka) and had great reception for both sound and vision. I have also spoken to people in Isreal and elsewhere - works great!!
