Does any one actually believe that changing how a word is written by adding a - or a * or any other symbol stops it from being rude and/or insulting.

I know the rule only says that you should be polite and you MAY be banned without warning but lets face it, calling someone a P---k is still being insulting wether you have filled in the letters or not.

We all get annoyed and frustrated by some of the posts (guilty as charged your honour) but when this starts being the way people think they are not breaking rules it gets rediculous very quickly.

There is a great difference between trying to be funny and using an expletive but blanking some letters for censoreship and hurling a blatant insult but blanking some letters so you don't think you'll get in trouble.

I know before any one says, I am being pedantic and I should just ignore tham and they will go away but why should anyone have to ignore rule breakers, if you don't warn them they won't stop.

A-l *h% be&t,

P%(l

Projer the reason people might put ----- or ***** in the gaps so you can fill it in, if you decide to use a sware work then thats up to you but p---k could mean plank or prank and either way did not want to offends.

Sorry if this offends but there are a lot more im portant things and this is surly an adul site, so !"£$%^&*()_+?>@~}{<>?,./';[]=- OK LOL

Nice one DD, that gave me a chuckle. It's still insulting if they put stars or stripes, if they were just saying plank or prank they wouldn't need to say it like this p***k, that gives the word a whole new meaning.

Now shut the Fcuk up!

Sad as it may seem, I jotted down every swear word used on BBC Radio 4 over the last three weeks and the only two expletives which weren't used were the F & C words! Draw your own conclusions.

Actually Jock, I am working night shift.

Smity, my apologies, I didn't realise this was an adult site because if it were then it's absolutely fine to swear and insult people, No wait a minute it is against the forum rules.

Anyone who knows me would say that I swear too much for my own good, that is not the point I was trying to make. If you hurl a direct insult at someone you are breaking the forum rules and hiding 1 or 2 letters doesn't stop it from being an insult.

So many people complain about the moderators when someone gets banned for contravening the rules and yet I have seen so many rude and insulting comments that just slip by, and then the next will be complaints that there is no consistency to the banning.

Maybe I should have put this on the pet peeves thread instead as people who do whatever they want and don't care about the consequences but then complain to everyone when they are caught and punished, just like teenagers really
