Asda have bowed to public pressure and dropped Jordon from the camapign,

This is what they said in a press release

"Nobody was happy with what Katie said on the show, especially us. I know you feel like we don't listen, but we do. We were extremely grateful for her contribution to both breast cancer charities - it's a lot of money that clearly helps.

"The last thing we want to do is upset anyone and so in light of the conversations we have all had over the past couple of days we won't be using Katie in any publicity shots. The lingerie range will still be in store so that there is still have the chance to raise money.

"Thanks for your time and your feedback, perhaps you want to get in touch with me to be involved in our campaign next year? You can help shape what it might be so that we can continue to raise as much money as possible."

Teresa,

Nice to know that Asda do listen to the public. I know my friend Irene will be delighted with the news as she was quite upset by the fact that they were using Katie Price (Jordon) as were a lot of other ladies who are battling breast cancer.

A round of applause for Asda, I shop there sometimes when in UK and will continue to do so now. Jordan is a disgusting little slapper, why the business 'Kiddie store' sponsors her heavenly only knows, she is not a good role model for parents, personally I hope Peter Andre get full custody of all of her children.

Hi everyone, and thanks to everyone who sent off e-mails to Asda.

Anyone that can pick-up BBC Morning programme should listen in on Monday as one of the members of the Breastcancer Care Forum will be giving her views on this campaign. This lady is terminally ill and in her words this will probably be her last October. It was Debs who contacted the BBC as she felt that she wanted to leave her mark and raise awareness of how insensitive this campaign was. One very brave lady.

Thank you all once again.

I agree, she is a total waste of space and totally agree with Dee.

She's only interested in one thing and that's herself

Boglefan,

Thank you for originally bringing this to our attention 3 days ago, like myself, many, I would think, responded postively to your thread and I for one am absolutely delighted that this is the result.

Peter Andre fans showed their loyalty to him by destroying merchandise in a supermarket when he was at a recent personal visit there!

Guess we don't like "Jordan", however it's spelt.

Never met Peter Andre, so don't know if he "is a really nice person"

I don't think I could dislike anyone I hadn't met, that would be relying on other (unknown) people's perceptions.

I think she has a couple of things in her favour (I aren't even go to say, No! not them)

1/ I saw her on TV with Harvey, it seemed obvious to me that he wasn't being used as a "fashion accessory"

Nor was he there to get the sympathy vote, he was there because she loves him. How many of today's wannabes would parade a "Harvey". Madonna, Angelina, Elton. It's ok for them, the kids aren't theirs.

2/ She's a self made millionairess and she's done it with virtually no talent. She has secured the future for her kids. She is a lesson in determination.

I wish her all the best, it must be hard for her (no pun intended). It looks to me like the stress has got to her.

I wish Peter all the best too, but remember, Jordan revived his career and he certainly cont

cont from 18,

Has the sympathy vote just now.

All my best wishes too for the future, Jeff Brazier? and the kids.

Time will tell on Jordan, maybe it already is, maybe that is why she is, like she is.

Thank you for contacting me.

I'm so sorry you feel so strongly against Katie Price being involved. She is just one of many celebrities who have offered their time for free to help raise awareness of the campaign, including Martine McCutcheon, Donna Air and Jessica Taylor. We do approach lots of people but they are unfortunately unable to offer their time, as much they would like to.

Thanks to the continued support of customers, Asda colleagues and a host of celebrities the Asda Tickled Pink campaign has raised over £20million for Breast Cancer Campaign and for Breast Cancer Care. Both charities support our decision to use Katie as part of the campaign.

Katie donated her time for free and also £30,000 of her money through sales of her products in store and we are extremely grateful for her contribution.

After listening to the feedback we have had, the last thing we want to do is upset anyone and so we won't be using Katie in any publicity shots.

Over the past thirteen years, the Tickled Pink campaign has raised over £20million for Breast Cancer Campaign and for Breast Cancer Care thanks to the continued support of our customers, Asda colleagues and a host of celebrities who donate their time for free. Everyone involved this year will be working hard to once again raise much needed funds and do whatever they can to raise awareness.

Hi Minertor !

I HAVE met Peter Andre - just as Ms Price and he had announced their relationship) and he was kind enough to allow me to pose with him for a shot for my eldest daughter ! He's quite short and that seems to bother him as he asked me to crouch a little - as he said it wouldn''t do his image much good !!!

His parents wanted a dish to be able to watch ITV2 , which wasn't available in CY back then ! A family friend didn't think the relationship would last long and was just a massive "publicity stunt"..... *I* didn't get the feeling that Peter felt that way...

What do I know? But he seemed genuine ..

Hi Teresa

Just to let you know Asda through the Breast Cancer Care are now asking for input in the 'way forward' from the Breast Cancer Care Forum members. Asda have raised a lot of money over the years and I hope that their new campaign will continue to raise money for research but will be more sensitive to those who have lost a loved one, or those who are terminally ill from this disease. Sorry but breast cancer is not pink, fluffy or funny.

Thank you everyone.

Irene
