Somewhere else I heard you're only welcome (today!) on invitation. True or untrue?

It's True, The Stumble... or "The Filling Station' as it is now called, will be opening today from around 5pm, All are Welcome,

Bobby Sands, and a guest appearance from STARFEVER!

What a horrible name, that wouldn't encourage me to visit, sounds like a greasy spoon cafe.

Hattikins, my sentiments exactly, they could have picked something a little more catchy even The Stumble Out, would have been better than The Filling Station, I would expect to get petrol their.

Not picking or prodding, just expressing an opinion, my first instinct was * what a horrible name*, I wish Tony and Ruth all the very best in their new venture, I just think, personally, that the name is not particularly inviting and obviously there are other people who feel the same.

All we are doing is expressing an opinion, I personally do not like the name that they have chosen, and it sounds a little impersonal, Ruth and Tony's would have been a nice welcoming name.

I too wish them success.

I also intended no harm and wish them well however I would have thought a little customer feedback would be welcomed. Personally, I do not know them and if I was driving past something called The Filling Station I would assume it was a cafe not a restaurant. Just my opinion.

I think 'The Filling Station' is OK. The Farmhouse was very successful and that name wasn't conjured up by the Saatchi brothers was it!

The Stumble had became quite an Iconic name , going to miss it , but good luck to the Filling Station . Used to be one in Shepherds Bush before it became Bush Bar and Grill

Freethinker, msg 9

Also "if it aint broke don`t mend it"

Having used the "Stumble" since it was Halikaris fish restaurant i think the regulars will still refer to it as the "Stumble".

Was a fabulous evening and, as has already been said, the turn out surely reflects the popularity and kindness of the family. Wherever they have gone, they have been successful and I very much expect the 'Filling Station' to enjoy the same fate. Was really lovely to see the 'Stumble' back to it's best on a Sunday Session. Good luck Tony, Ruth and Amy. If you don't like the name, make a visit to the bar, I'm sure it will grow on you!! Come on, it was either that or 'The Moody Cow'!!! XXXXXX

Are they actually open? I heard that they havent had the necessary permits through to atually open and trade yet, but apparently there was an opening party (as above), but when my visitors went down yesterday, they said the sign is still saying closed and it looked very quiet? Having had the opening party, are they now officially open or are they closed (waiting for paperwork) etc?

All the best to Ruth,Tony and young Amy, never had a bad meal when visited The farm house or the Riverside,

the name is irrelevant if you have a good name with your food and hospitality. Never have they made us feel second best, they seem to treat every one the same. With the amount of people that they used to have in at the waterfront, Amy and Ruth always had the time to chat and always came back to ask if every thing ok. Customer service is always what every one should go for in any business, well done to you three. xx

Have had family over and friends,(NC) they couldnt sample Ruths cooking, but hope to next year.
