Have you checked out the new radio station, its on 88~00FM no talking, just continuous music, 24/7 a welcome change.

Also it would be interesting for me to know what areas it can be heard in. It is either a test transmission or maybe the TRNC's first pirate station.

no there is never any talking at all, which is a bonus, however the only down side is when you hear a classic, and you cant remember who sings it...you dont find out.

Strange one...

Normally radio stations have to give an ident every now and again. This is a normal broadcasting regulation.

Also, if it is commercial how is it financed without advertising?

Could it be a homemade pirate station or a test transmission?

Who can hear it and who can't? This will give an idea of where it is transmitting from and how powerful the transmitter is...

Ok so I will start the ball rolling.

I am in Alsancak and the signal is strong and I have removed the antenna and it is still strong in fact overriding what I regard as two strong stations either side of the stated frequency.

Thanks for everyones input, it is now looking as though it is to the west of Girne. I have just heard a very short announcement in Turkish which i did not manage to grab/understand/record.

Had a quick look at this station, it's coming in loud and clear in Alsancak near Green Petrol ( as one would expect from previous reports)

No RDS / PTY information transmitted
