As usual, I walked my dogs down Karsiyaka last night (the main dog-walking area near the beach) and someone has dumped a load of what I can only assume is blue dye/stain. My 3 dogs returned absolutely covered and as a result, not only is my car covered, but also the patio, house, bathroom and even me! It has taken 4 washes to get it off the dogs, however my little white terrier pup still looks like he's had a blue rinse! I have no idea what it is (could it be something to do with the sheep down there?), but it is awful. Bleach wont even remove it from my bathroom tiles and my nails and feet are now a nice shade of blue! Apart from the mess, I have no idea what it is and if it is toxic, but either way, I cannot believe that someone has done that. They must know what it is but have still dumped it anyway. I feel sorry for any stray or wild animals that get covered in it as they will obviously not be able to get if off. Shame on whoever has done that!

There were people on walks on Friday. They were marking the route with dye.

I too wondered what it was for, I'm sure they wouldn't have left big patches of it though.

There are people here from mainland Turkey, ROC and Britain for 'The Hash' . As I understand it it is a walking weekend, and as flowerfairy rightly pointed out they mark the routes with dye. I only know this as I gave a couple a lift to their Hotel on Friday when I met them in the supermarket.

On the other hand Jock it could be Rangers leaving their mark for today! (joke)

I dont think it would be from the walkers as there was too much of it, like someone had emptied drums, or maybe there was a spillage. I have reported it though, so hopefully someone will go and have a look. As for Rangers - nah, c'mon Celtic!

Laptalocal: We took ours down there last night and also had 2 hours of bathing & cleaning when we got home. I wont even mention the state of the car :-( Our black and white dog is now black and blue and my toenails also blue - perhaps we can start a trend?

If the Hash House Harriers have used dye then it will be the first time as they have always used chalk to mark the routes. Today is the first one of the season and if anyone on this board is going then perhaps they can confirm what it is they have used. Unfortunately I was going to go but it clashes with the Classic Car Rally finish in Girne.

I can confirm the local HHH have only used white chalk today.

Hi chinaeyes

Thanks for that info.

I was told today that there was another group of HHH from the South that were doing a walk/run around the same area but not part of the TRNC lot.

Did you hear this?

Merhaba AJ

Yes thats correct ,there were people from the south i believe but am sure they wouldn't have left such a mess. There must be some other explanation to this problem, lorry drivers do not bother where they dump, maybe Lapta Belly can take a sample!!!!!!!!!!!
