Great article Aussie

It would seem that there is not allot of energy in the system to create change. People are not marching and campaigning for reunification. Politicians are not reaching out across the divide, holding hands and embracing each other with words of 'lets reunite, we are brothers', 'lets implement lots of trust building intitiatives', 'we can make it happen, we desperately want to reunite', 'where there is a will there is a way, we can make it happen, we can easily surmount our obstacles'. Perhaps the reason is, because of what this writer says 'people want things to stay as they are'. The divison reflects the two mind sets and the north/south divide is the natural resting place of the system, it has found homeostasis.

Perhaps it also true that the pressure for change is coming from the external system, the international community. Perhaps the International community has misread the Cypriot system and is more concerned about it's own goals and ambitions.
