Again: incomplete "information". What good is it to others to read this? WHAT is the name of "the little bar" where they tried to rip you off? I for one support messages like this - it may help to frighten others to do the same. But it only works as "name and shame".

Six of you had a total of five drinks - legend has it that a Scotsman dropped sixpence and started digging, and that's how New Zealand was discovered..... !!!

Fazo are your charges reasonable for A/C repairs and have you got a proper work permit to do these repairs, bet you dont like this post do you, so dont sit behind your puter thinking of things to write unless you can take as well as give

orangekazzie,

maybe, just maybe it might make him think before he starts hammering on his keyboard about little bars who rip people off, (but i think it was probably a figment of an over active imagination) and he will know exactly what i mean. lol

If 6 people walk into a bar but only buy 5 drinks, I am not too sure I would be drinking with them anyway.

It sounds alot like another, if I were in the UK the prices would be """". Not the UK, if you don't like the prices don't drink there, that's what any other normal person would do.

I am pretty sure that if this bar did it all the time it would have been name and shamed by now as Hans suggested.

What on earth will everybody do if we do go EU, all these places will have semi standardised prices and I can guarantee it won't be standardised to the lower end.

Obviously your Turkish is excellent, to enable you to argue the odds, whatever happened was sorted wasnt it?

Sure it couldn't have been a mistake..if they apologised and gave you money back, whats the problem?

Fazo1/Msg 1:

Next time the 6 of you go to buy 5 drinks, and you think it's too pricey - try the good ol' Kiwi 'Drink and Dash'!

Problem is: it doesn't work every time, and being TRNC, you might all be finding out what 'Xmas 2009' is like behind bars!

Two bottles of Miller 14TL max. Three cans of coke 15TL max. = 29TL, is what you paid at the very top end. So with mitigating circumstances, what where the pole dancers like?

RE msg 21, Fazo1: Read msg 2 - until now your posts are still accusing, absolutely non-informative and thus useless. Next time wait another day, get your facts right and try to compose a post that doesn't damage "the little bar" - and yourself.

P.S. Too many times people on this board just pass on gossip and worthless "information". Just my opinion.

fazo 1;

Do you realy have a work permit?O r are you just bluffing and hoping people wouldnt think twice.I would think twice before answering that one(I am Cypriot)

There is a huge difference between "work permit" and "self employed".

There are alot of people whom are on the list from the forum alone,hope you are not one of them.

Never mind the pub - anyway they should have asked for a price list! On a smaller scale, of course, but rather like accepting that PTP on pre '74 Turkish Title property is 'a mere formality'.

Was this 'Reg' aka 'Halil' ever associated with 'Victorian Homes', and are they still 'trading'?

Doyen 1 urged members to introduce some gossip..... I trust the above question contributes?

fazo 1,

msg 28;

I met you and I think you are a nice and geniune guy,please take my comment as good hearted.

re msg 27,

DitchCrusader;

You'll be surprised how many ex-pats in TRNC working illegaly and also ripping also ex-pats off left right and centre.(ie.some one not long ago trying to sell a ton of logs for £150 when locals are selling the same thing fod 150 tl)

So,for your and every one elses info:No,I am not a policeman,yes I do know about the list,and I also not like one single bit that no one says nothing about "brits ripping off brits",yet

, first at a chance to jump at locals throats when I,myself have said time and time again,"it is not just btits they are doing it,but also locals.

Her is one for you:

A brit neighbour of mine was supposed to bring my doughter a play station,took the money of me,been back 3 times since,still no sign of kids PS.

Perhaps I should put that in Cyprus Today.!!

I doubt that Alsancak's comment will cause the Brit expat community to collectively rush out to the estate agents and 'dump' their 'bargain' properties on the market and quit the island!

However, Doyen 1's suggestion to 'spice up' this forum with 'gossip' may come to fruition sooner than expected - hooray!

BTW: (and just to keep 'on thread') the drinks at that (as yet unnamed!) little bar in Dogankoy, seem to be a bargain compared with harbour bar tariffs!

We used to have a Scottish window cleaner. He was leaning across to clean the attic window when a pound coin fell through a hole in his trouser pocket. We had to take him to A & E to have it removed from his head.
